Ben-2000 Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Don't know if this has already been discussed but couldn't find it elsewhere... Is he still in football?

G Somerset Rover Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Last I heard he was still training with Bolton in an attempt to keep his fitness up...could well be wrong by now mind.
Atomicrover Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Last I heard he was still training with Bolton in an attempt to keep his fitness up...could well be wrong by now mind. That was certainly the case when my son served him in IKEA Warrington a few weeks ago
Hasta Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 I heard from a Carlisle fan that he couldn't sign and play for anyone until the end of this season due to insurance purposes. After that he'll sign for Carlisle.
Cocker Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 I heard from a Carlisle fan that he couldn't sign and play for anyone until the end of this season due to insurance purposes. After that he'll sign for Carlisle. Or Man U or Chelski
frosty Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 At one point he was going to sign for New York, but that was a long time ago now.
Exiled_Rover Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 He was linked with Walsall a while back, but wanted too much in the wage department.
Guest shoppybrfc Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Lets bring back Warhurst while we're at it then.
Cocker Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 At one point he was going to sign for New York, but that was a long time ago now. Yeah, and I was dumb enough to buy a New York Red Bulls shirt because of it
Ricky Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 He was out there training with them but they sacked the manager and it all changed.
DanLad Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 He was out there training with them but they sacked the manager and it all changed. Hell, that was one bad training session, then!
speeeeeeedie Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 He was out there training with them but they sacked the manager and it all changed. It was Mo Johnston who got the boot, they replaced him with master tactician Bruce Arena soon after he was fired by US Soccer.
Roost Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Lets bring back Warhurst while we're at it then. Erm..... it was a joke shoppy
blue phil Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 At one point he was going to sign for New York, but that was a long time ago now. Are you sure it wasn't York , Frosty ....?
grizfoot Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 GOD'S BACK - CLICK Good luck to him! I always thought he was a striker not a midfielder though.
Cocker Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Good luck to him! I always thought he was a striker not a midfielder though. He is a striker - just another case of quality BBC reporting
rover_groo Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 I wouldn't say it should be too hard for MAtt to break into Carlisle's first team. One lad they signed from Morcambe with 8 goals to his name in like 30 games. He should be able to form a link with striker Danny Graham who scored 7 goals in 11 appearances for the Cumbrians last season. Good luck Matty and hope it works out well for you son.
tchocky Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Yeah shame they didn't give him a contract. I understand he's only training with them, and is still a free agent.
Shaddy Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Am I right in thinking that a player does not need to be contracted to play for the club? The club just has to hold the players registration?
modes98 Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Yeah shame they didn't give him a contract. I understand he's only training with them, and is still a free agent. Correct at this moment, however they were interested in making him a member of the squad. Only problem may be his wage demands, although given he can't get a club that may no longer be an issue.
