Hughesy Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Article with Benjani Interesting line.... The striker, who turns 33 on August 13 this year has sealed a one-year deal with Blackburn Rovers. The English side have also pledged to help in funding a football school of excellence, which Mwaruwari wants to establish in Zimbabwe, as part of the relationship between the two parties.

Backroom Tom Posted July 3, 2011 Backroom Posted July 3, 2011 For some reason you can just tell Benjani is a top bloke and would be great to have around, glad the club are going to help him set up a foundation and glad he's on board for another year.
davulsukur Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 LET reports that Benji has not travelled with the squad to Austria as he is still trying to resolve his future. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburnrovers/news/9119793.Blackburn_Rovers_head_to_Austria_without_Benjani/
philipl Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 If I remember correctly, Benjani is very close to being able to make his stay in the UK permanent. Therefore I am not surprised he is being offered a deal but I would imagine it will be by PL standards something very basic with appearance kickers. I would think his place in the final 25 is likely to be at risk if the club's plans as they were two weeks ago come to fruition.
Backroom Tom Posted July 4, 2011 Backroom Posted July 4, 2011 In that interview he says he doesn't want citizenship although it was to a Zimbabwean paper.
philipl Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 cs4christsamba1 Samba Christopher I'm so sad my mate benjany left the club today.it's look like he won't play for rovers anymore benjy is a great guy to be round.to be missed
CrazyIvan Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 "@tonyindarwen: @cs4christsamba1 How come he left? I thought he wanted the extension that was offered?"//apparently not Has he had a better offer elsewhere?
Speedie Dived Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 cs4christsamba1 Samba Christopher I'm so sad my mate benjany left the club today.it's look like he won't play for rovers anymore benjy is a great guy to be round.to be missed The most positive aspect about this is Samba saying he will miss him.
den Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 The most positive aspect about this is Samba saying he will miss him. You didn't think Benjani was going to Arsenal, did you?
Speedie Dived Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 You didn't think Benjani was going to Arsenal, did you? Maybe Benjani is going down first, sort out accommodation for Samba? Benjani might finally get his wish and complete the move he craved all those years ago? ;-)
PAFELL Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Maybe Benjani is going down first, sort out accommodation for Samba? Benjani might finally get his wish and complete the move he craved all those years ago? ;-) I think Benjani will end up at Brighton.
otto man Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 I think Benjani will end up at Brighton. Fishing on the pier?

Well this turned out to be ######
broadsword Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 So we've got Niko and Roberts? and Pavone. Oh wait!
den Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 So we've got Niko and Roberts? and one of those doesn't want to be here. Not an ideal situation, would one think?
Mattyblue Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 and one of those doesn't want to be here. Not an ideal situation, would one think? For christ sake denzil, IT'S ONLY JULY
den Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 For christ sake denzil, IT'S ONLY JULY I know. Panicking unnecessarily.
Roost Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 It seems they have renegotiated his deal and now Benjani will be a Rover this season. Probably says more about the lack of incomng players than it does about their opinion of Benjani.
Backroom Tom Posted July 23, 2011 Backroom Posted July 23, 2011 Good news if true, rather Benjani than Kalinic on the bench. We need one or two really good strikers though to go with Benjani and Roberts to stand a chance though.
niggit Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Would rather Benjani not be here and we use Blackman or Rochina ahead of him.
gumboots Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Good to see we've really moved on from the Trust. Of course we've moved on - just not in the right direction
Stuart Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 So is he staying or going. Very confusing at the minute. Dated yesterday... http://www.thestandard.co.zw/sports/30820-mwaruwari-quits-blackburn-rovers-over-salary.html
