RibbleValleyRover Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 LOL @ our new owners. So funny Listening to the radio, what was funny?
Tim Southampton Rover Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 The camera's went to them and they were sat there with blankets. Both looked bloody froze and about 70 years old!
SamTheShrew Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 they looked v.cold first half! Dunn has played 90 minutes, but has been a passenger all game
Rover Down Under Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 A much needed 3 points in this crazy season. Up to 11th and 3 wins in 4...not bad at all.
American Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 See, the new owners said they'd move us up the table...
Tim Southampton Rover Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 3 valuable points infront of the new owners. Great weekend for Rovers 11th position Clean sheet 90 mins for Dunny 2 goals for Peders Jones looked brilliant defensively again Our defence played superb. Goulon debut Loads of positives today. Let's hope the new owners don't assume we play like that all the time and instead of investing in players they invest 5m on heating at Ewood instead.
SamTheShrew Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Great win, far from pretty but always good to beat villa and a clean sheet to go with it. 11th is fine with me
martmitch Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 on a serious note I think roberts has earned a starting place in the next game, when we play like we do with one up front hes just so much better at holding the ball than anyone else we have
Backroom DE. Posted November 21, 2010 Backroom Posted November 21, 2010 Brilliant result, absolutely delighted with that! Villa had more possession but I never thought they looked much of a threat. Early in the first half it looked like they were going to torment us down the wings, but that never came to fruition. We shut them out and limited them to mostly long shots. Samba and Nelsen were immense today, as was Phil Jones. Robbo also played well without having too much to do. Roberts did well up front, I thought, and was more effective than Kalinic probably would have been. EH Diouf missed a couple of sitters but retained the ball very well. MGP came up with the goods again today, he's starting to win me over. Overall an efficient and solid performance from most of the team. I thought Dunn and Givet were poor today. Dunn never really did anything of note and Givet is under a really bad spell at the moment. Hope he snaps out of it soon. Overall though, a solid performance and a much needed 3 points
joey_big_nose Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 We defended really well today. With the ball we were pretty clueless - but Villa were so bad we could have scored five! Rovers have a very promising looking set of Christmas fixtures coming up and we are in great form at the moment, Spurs aside. Pedersen is back on top, Hoilett and Diouf both look dangerous, Jones does the defensive role excellently and Roberts is in good form. Only real weak links at the moment seem to be Dunn and Chimbonda.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Bellamy (guest on sky sports) on Blackburn Rovers - Great club to play for, brilliant training ground, staff, well run...really enjoyed playing there. Good to see him giving us credit. Feel free to come back
SamTheShrew Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 When Jones slipped and remained in control of possession that really showed his qualities to me - fingers crossed the takeover increases our chances of keeping hold of him
Tim Southampton Rover Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 When he headers the ball. He reminds me of Samba. He's got a great leap and he can really get the distance too. It's great he's working with Nelsen and Samba everyday. He can only benefit from that.
tony gale's mic Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 That was probably two points gained on what we wouldve expected. After Man U there's a lot of okay fixtures...
RibbleValleyRover Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 First win by more than a goal in 24 games. Felt like a long time, didn't realise it was that long! Solid defensive performance today and a couple of goals from Pedersen got us the win. Thought our open play really wasn't that great but was enough to beat a Villa side missing players. Pedersen starting to find the back of the net, first time he has scored 4 league goals in a season since the 2007 season. Three vital points.
Clitherover Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Not the best game i've watched but a brilliant 3 points all the same. Hats off to Pedders, he's on fire at the moment. Will be watching that free kick a few times more tonight on MOTD.
