Valois Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 The Huddersfield who lost 4-0 at Carlisle in the Johnston Paints semi-final last night? I believe so, just checking on Jason Robert's twitter he has confirmed this as well. I'm guessing Huddersfield will use it to play some youngsters, players coming back from injury also, much the same as we will. The quality of opposistion is not an issue, it gives the likes of RSC and Jones the chance to get some match fitness under their belt. On the topic of reading players twitter, Pascal Chimbonda's is just plain depressing - pascal chimbonda I really don't kno what game blackburn playing with me. That's p!ss me off elijwonj pascal chimbonda Start a routine day again pascal chimbonda Bed time for another same day tomorow Surely someone must be interested in taking him.

braddock Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Surely someone must be interested in taking him. Why? He'll be on decent wages and nobody can afford a luxury full back these days, at least not a team which matches his own quality. And by his own quality I mean lack of.
pancini Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Chimbondas twitter shows what is wrong with the guy the only people he is following are girls looking for a quick jump he is more interested in f@nny than football
Majiball Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Well done today fella, decent début and nice to finally see a sitter who can last the full 90.
HemelRover Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Well done today fella, decent début and nice to finally see a sitter who can last the full 90. Spot on. His sitting and protection allowed most of the good stuff we did going forward. All he needs to do now is have a half decent injury record and after 5 games he will have had a better Rovers career than Grella.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Considering it was his first game for the club, he had a solid debut. At times he was fortunate not to cost us some goals i.e. fouling outside the box and inside the box (despite the ref awarding a freekick instead) but I am sure he will improve with his timing once he gets up to the pace of the English game. I bet the majority of us were extremely happy with what was saw.
Rovermatt Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I was impressed to be honest. He appears to have sound technique, a good engine and the apparently precious ability to pass to his team mates. I don't see what there is to criticise, considering he's played just the one game.
Valois Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Thought all in all he had a pretty good game. Ok gave away a couple of silly fouls, but broke there play down a few times, did the simple things well, has some nice touches. His first game, and will only get better once he is up to speed with the PL. We certainly looked a lot more solid with him in there anyway.
Blue n White Rover Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Promising debut, thought he played well in midfield and gave us a little bite in the middle. Few mistimed challenges, but I put that down to him not adapted to the PL just yet. If he can get the ball and give it to the likes of Hoillet on the wing, we may be on to a quality player. Will definitely get a red card though by the end of the season.
Hughesy Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 For a debut - he did well. Did what he was asked to by just sitting infront of the back 4 - and showed he is more than happy to throw himself into tackles. As he gets up to speed with the premier league pace, he will soon look even better. Much better central midfielder than we have had for some time!
sweet Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Some stats for you guys lifted from guardian chalkboard, in regard to j.jones performance today. Passes - 28 Successful - 23 Unsuccessful - 5 Interceptions - 3 Tackles - 7 Won - 5 Lost - 2 Clearances - 3 Successful - 0 Unsuccessful - 3

Totally agree Hughesy, good engine as well, especially when thrown into the deep end against a very good passing side.
mattyc2422 Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Looked okay, albeit a bit rusty. Will be better for the run.
J*B Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Looked quality today. Just the slight lunge for their should be penalty, but I'll put that down to human error and trying to impress. Look forward to more of the same, if he does, I'd be willing to consider him permanently even on such huge wages.
michaelthomas Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 everyone seems to have overlook his totally awesome header early on! impressed me today, he's just what we need in the middle of the park, and kudos to kean for going out and potentially rectifying that age old problem.
bennyboyt11 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I thought he was quite energetic and willing to get stuck in, which is always nice to see from a player on the debut. He really seemed keen to impress and put himself about, a great performance (albeit a lucky one!)
philipl Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Good start. Looking forwards to seeing him when he is more used to being at Rovers.
Bobby G Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 He was never rushed in distributing the ball either. Took his time without being lazy on the ball. Always took forward movements too. I would love to see the running stats from yesterday's game.

I would love to see the running stats from yesterday's game. Great debut. Exactly the player we needed. Disciplinary performance. Neat and tidy and got stuck in! Gave away some silly freekicks - one should have been a pen.
chris Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 if that was a pen he would have been DESTORYED on here. he can't do that again. otherwise did well.

It must be horrendous when all you have to look forward to is playing footy for about 3 hours every day and getting paid only £30,000 a week for it. If only he had a life like mine he would be far happier.
