Kamy100
Well you can't have a deputy chief exec, without having a chief exec. So who's that going to be Kamy? I don't think that Venky's follow traditional models of corporate governance. I suspect that Hunt will be reporting direct to owners in Pune, so no need for another layer of authority at Ewood. Kamy100
Then call him Chief exec Venkys!! Oh well we'll soon find out. There's always the possibility that one of the 2 Venky's appointed directors could be given title of Chairman or that Mrs D is formally given title of Chairwoman. Chaddy - I fear that Tom Finn won't be around much longer, like I said earlier that would be a huge shame should it prove true.

Exiled in Toronto
The titles are a bit confusing but then they always were. When JW was here, TF had the title Chief Executive when clearly he wasn't the most senior, hands on employee who acted in an executive capacity (meaning involved in the day to day running of the club), Williams was. He did transfers, contracts, manager reported to him etc. Usually, the Chief executive is just that, top day-to-day man and the Chairman has a more distant, semi-advisory role and is the main link between the business and the shareholders. (which JW was)

Iceman
by the look of it, seems he will focus more in the commercial side of things, so forget what his title is at the moment. the opportunity is there for a new sponsor, so it makes sense to appoint him. the timing is not great though, especially since we still don't know where we will be in 3 weeks time. I think. that Tom Finn should be made chairman on a permanent basis. however, is he loyal or was he loyal to JW, but stayed on to ensure some sort of stability. and come the end if the season. he will also walk away. Brfcrule1
Sam_rovers you took the words right out of my mouth so Kamy100 is he an SEM/Kentaro client will be relieved if he isn't?. Kamy although it is good they are making appointments at boardroom level & about time too but the big question everyone wants to know when are they likely to appoint a new chairman?. Revidge regarding the 2 new Indian chaps on the board this was announced a bit under the radar apparantly that marple leaf chappy who has his own blog heard about it first apparantly they are Indian nationals directors of 2 other UK companies apart from that not much else is known about them if you want to know more maybe the marple leaf chap might know more his blog address is http://themarpleleaf.blogspot.com/2010/03/where-are-blue-and-white-knights.html not sure if he knows much else though on the 2 Indian board members. Kamy100
Paul's LinkedIn CV According to his CV he is a member of the ARENA ASIA - SPORTS MARKETING & MERCHANDISE NETWORK. Maybe one of the reason why he has got the job as he may have an insight into Asia and Far East Markets which Venky's want to tap into.

Surely your not dumping on the guy already? He sounds a tad more qualified to head our marketing effort than being son of the last Chairman! Ste B
Seems a strong CV to me, and a decent appointment. Certainly Ken Beamish and Simon Williams will be under pressure to deliver now. At least Venkys are putting people in place who they may actually listen to !!
OJRovers
Better CV than our current head of commercial activities, but not really a 'global' appointment, maybe they'll employ specialists on a contract basis if we are going to attempt to make it big in Asia/S.America. unsall
Kamy, what is going to happen to Tom Finn then? Tom Finn wants to go,that is for certain, but has said he wont be pushed out,he wants the same as JW a decent pay out....
imy9
Who cares what goes on any more regarding that mob? They are our owners, the fans should care. As always interesting choice of word there, cannot see why you have used it. Very interesting appointment and his CV does suggest that he knows the Far East better than the current people in posts at the club.
Wiggy
Who cares what goes on any more regarding that mob? Absolutely Drog! A majority of the long term season ticket holders I know can't see themselves renewing if the numpties are still in charge. I don't think the world's best 'marketeers' could bring them around. If we stay up I'm praying the Raos' sell my club to someone who knows a little about the football business. If they stay I'm just expecting more heaps of bullsh1t. All three of them appear to be intellectual derelicts.
Guest roverite1991
Looks a very good appointment to me! Maybe we can get the glorious 'Cobra' sponsor that I saw in an old thread That looked brilliant! I think that one of the board of directors will take the Chief Exec position, if not Tom Finn.

JAL
Looks like Tom Finn's in charge for the time being from that. Quite right too. Does anyone have any info about our two Indian Board members? Can't recall seeing or hearing anything about them before. WTF has Tom Finn done in his time here ? Tom Finn wants to go,that is for certain, but has said he wont be pushed out,he wants the same as JW a decent pay out.... The w@nker, typical, if true. Or is it just an 'easy' excuse?? Because in many peoples eyes they feel the club is being used as a marketing vehicle for an Indian chicken company, that they have ignored proper football people at every turn that thy hsave risked everything through their own arrogance. That IS how a lot of people are thinking, you're a Blackbuner Hughesy, you know this is the case with a lot of folk. Not saying they can't get the fans back onside, but they have a lot of ground to make up.

Not saying they can't get the fans back onside, but they have a lot of ground to make up. You say a lot of ground to make up? All the owners have to do is replace Kean with a "proper" manager and the fans will start to love Venkys. That is how fickle football fans are. The owners aren't stupid. They wouldn't have that much money if they were. We've just appointed a decent Deputy Chief Exec, we've just appointed one of the best accountants in the WORLD in KPMG. We've just spent around £5million in the previous transfer window. Replace Kean and everyone will be asking for statue's of the Rao's.
