Someone will apply. Trouble is who's going to choose which one we take? That's what all this is about. We're only at this point because the club's structure doesn't/can't function. They can't make decisions.

6 months, fail and you are sacked. You couldn't bring in your own players to help you achieve success, and you can't bring in your own backroom team. Imo, that is a load of @#/? to work under those conditions. You cannot honestly tell me that is right, even if it was Peter Taylor.

My feelings exactly

All of this aside. Berg and the back team were sacked 1 week agg (2 games ago) with no one in place. Why? O.k results weren't good etc... but do your really sack a manager and even more surprising coaching staff with no replacement in place. Whatever happens this was ludicrously badly handled. Yes he should never have been appointed but....Very much the Venky's model of people management/decision making then!!!!

Something I cannot believe that Cryer et al. haven't asked Shebby. As you quite rightly say, you only sack a manager and their coaching staff if you have a replacement ready to step in. They really really are @#/? morons of the highest order.

Seriously? 1 win in 10 and the players looking more disinterested by the game. It was no longer an option to keep going especially if (and it is an if) the same trends as under Stevie started to appear in selection policy...

Yes seriously. Indeed identify the need to replace. Line somebody up. realise you've made a mistake. even sack the manager but not the whole coaching staff until you have a replacement who is definitely better!!! To say this was badly handled is perhaps the under statement of the year. yes-he clearly couldn't remain in place but.....

In theory i agree, in practice it really couldn't have got any worse if they had elected Dunny as fitness coach, Dann has defensive co-ordinator and mickey @#/? mouse as manager.

(Of course it is much easier for me to say this with hindsight after two wins! ^_^ )

So...Eric Black did a terrible job did he. Er No. Bobby Miimms wasn't a loyal servant..again er NO!!! Yes berg shouldn't have been appointed but these coaching staff should NEVER have been treated the way they did with leaks about dismissal etc... This was nearly handled as badly IMPO. as poor Tony Parks hearing he was out of a Job during the Hughes era.....

Like Berg did?

Berg fault.

Jan Aage Fjortoft said this about Berg and his lack of changing staff

Jan Aage Fjortoft‏@JanAageFjortoft

HB biggest mistake was not bringing his own staff. The players wanted a clean break but because the backroom staff was the same, they... 1/3

reverted back to playing under SK. Henning was told to bring his own staff but he didn't, which ultimately cost him the job. 2/3

HB did very well until the Birmingham match, then it all went back to like it was under Steve Kean

Given the situation, our club, a none existant transfer budget, league position, the owners, the board in the uk, questions on bringing in their own staff.. which self respecting manager would take the job for six months? We also have to take into consideration the shorter the contract the more expensive it is for that period, skilled short term contractors in most professions cost a fortune more than their perm counterparts.. they would also not be that interested in fixing other major issues in our setup like fitness, coaching etc..

Interesting that the request for a statement from the owners regarding financial backing (which should have been about a week ago) is met with a 6 month contract - and apparently no transfer budget - says it all really.

Tactical genius invest a fortune in staff then get a complete failure or novice to manage them.

If only they hadn't blown all their money on Kean's compensation, inflated agent fees, Shebby's trailer, and sacking anyone who didn't "tow the line".

Might have enough leftover for a decent manager at this critical stage.

Bugger me, they're a dumb bunch.

Or if they had not simply recruited Murphy or Gomes or Etuhu.. got to remember manager wages are a fraction (in most cases) of the players despite them being IMO the most important person at a football club with a recent article showing only the top 21 managers worldwide (inc national managers) earning 2m plus (which equates to less than 40k pw).
