SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Not one of our best derby day performances but we'll take the point.Nowhere near enough creativity in our side though. Samdingle and Longsiders..... our proud record remains, Kneel before the Blue 'n' White!

Guest Norbert Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 How did Williamson get sent off? Sounds like it was some mad lunge when a dingle was through on goal.
Proudtobeblue&white Posted September 14, 2013 Author Posted September 14, 2013 How did Williamson get sent off? Sounds like it was some mad lunge when a dingle was through on goal. Took one for the team, Kane howler, Ings won sprint with half the pitch open to him, only thing he could do, as he had lost the race
Kei Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Professional foul on Ings. No way he was catching him if he'd let him go.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 On that showing we won't get anywhere near promotion. We're too young and inexperienced. Think your summary is spot on Jim
Backroom Tom Posted September 14, 2013 Backroom Posted September 14, 2013 Bigger picture thats 7 points in 3 games, another point midweek then we can push on.
AllRoverAsia Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Considering we had Kean , Lowe and Marshall (Kean he was bad) we did ok
Doug Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Well done Rovers, work will be fun on Monday as they were soooooooo confident this time!!!
Amo Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 RE: The performance. An away day at the Dingledome. It was never going to be pretty, was it? According to the stats, Burnley edged possession but shots wise it was evens stevens, although we had over half as many corners as they did. All in all, a draw sounds like a fair result, and the record lives on. There's a looooong way to go in this season before anyone can start talking about promotion either way.
Salgado Is A Hero Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Just happy that we avoided defeat. We're not the finished article but we knew that already. Man of the Match - Lee Williamson
booth Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 How did Williamson get sent off? Sounds like it was some mad lunge when a dingle was through on goal. Not a mad lunge, just pulled him down as he was running towards goal.
Andy Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 There's no way we are getting anywhere near promotion. Very easy to get carried away with keeping the record over burnley, but this season, no. Not unless we manage to get a decent loanee to fill in for Dunn/Rochina in which case we may sneak the play offs. It's impossible to say at this stage of the season. The team are young and still gelling. Could easily go either way, but to write us off now, after a handful of games, is complete madness.
Stuart Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 How did Williamson get sent off? Sounds like it was some mad lunge when a dingle was through on goal. That's the half way line behind him by the way.
Gav Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Lee Williamson THE WHOLE OF BLACKBURN SALUTES YOU SON
G Somerset Rover Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 This was definitely the most glaring issue with our play. A lot of industry but zero creativity. King can zip all over the pitch but doesn't really have much intelligence so tends to drift into useless situations and lose the ball. He needs somebody like a Dunn or Rochina to slip him in behind defences. Cairney's a good player but again, despite possessing undoubted quality it's much more industry than creativity.Completely agree. King went back to being his usual frustrating self today. As you say he runs almost blind sometimes, while his right leg takes longer than a clock to wind up when he's thinking about having a pop at goal. Someone to play in the hole in Rochina and Dunn's absence added to a target man (for a plan )nd I don't think we'd be a million miles from the playoffs. As for Ben Marshall. My God, I'm not silly enough to write a man off after two games but he's been beyond anonymous so far. Almost as if he's scared of the ball.
rovers11 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Hahaha we really do have a hoodoo over Burnley. They just about deserved to win that but cocked it up yet again. Really missed Dunn/Rochina today, the link play was very poor. Marshall, Kane and Kean were very poor. They were more energetic and pressed higher up the pitch that us. They do lack a lot of quality though and there games is based on pumping long balls up to Vokes.
AllRoverAsia Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Ings would have tripped up anyway. plodder.
Commondore Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 This was always going to be a tough game, especially with both our chief creative outlets injured and no strikers on the bench. Onwards and upwards, hopefully with a good loanee in to cover for Rochina/Dunn.
Guest Norbert Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Thanks for the info. Normally I don't approve of such cynical behaviour. However..............
Proudtobeblue&white Posted September 14, 2013 Author Posted September 14, 2013 Next door Dingle fan who went to the game just phoned, gutted! I think they collectively wet themselves when they scored. Nothing else Williamson could have done, especially at the late stage in the match. JR interviewed and no idea how talented his shin is! Enjoy the rest of the weekend now!

Could easily go either way, but to write us off now, after a handful of games, is complete madness. We aren't getting promoted this season with the present squad, I just can't see it. Course that could change with a decent loanee and further strengthening in Jan.Now I'm off to put my underpants on my head and put a couple of pencils up my nose.
koi Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 The team is crying out for some experience in there, a Craig Short type would be ideal.
booth Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 We do need a leader at the back but the main problem is the gap between Rhodes and the midfield.
Jock Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Lee Williamson THE WHOLE OF BLACKBURN SALUTES YOU SON Spot-on. We need to let the lad know what he's done for us. Some lily livered fans will point out that all he did was cheat but he kept what little pride we have nowadays intact. Lee Williamson's a football genius
Stuart Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Disappointing from Kane to give the ball away to Ings. We were really pressing for a winner in those last few minutes and it just took the edge off.
