Not so sure about that Burnley are no world beaters by any stretch of the imagination ...

It is another game which , I feel we can win but does the manager ?

Good point. All sound bites from Bowyer before this game suggested he didn't fancy it.

Perhaps we should've signed Neill after all. :P

It really is quite pathetic. I've watched Bolton a few times this season and they've been unable to string a pass together.

Also how many people said getting rid of Dann and buying no one to replace him would end in tears? Everyone but Bowyer and co.

Dann was a poor player on ludicrious wages , but you are right about a replacement !

I really wasn't, PV. (You're opinion of me has really changed ever since Venkys rocked up and put Kean in charge).

If the loanee was a decent calibre then he would have slotted in with no problem - you seem to be looking to find an excuse for poor planning by the manager. Bowyer has neglected a vital part of the team, whether deliberately or enforced through finances. The fact that he's brought in Varney suggests that he did have some wage budget though.

I'm not sure i know what you mean Stuart. My opinion hasn't changed on you in years. I think you're one of the best posters on here. Our opinions don't always go hand in hand but i don't consider you to be someone who is the polar opposite of me in terms of our opinions or even our personalities (as far as one can tell on a messageboard). The reason i enjoy your posts is because i think your intelligent, polite and open minded to other peoples view points. I think you might have misconstrued my opinion of you a little mate.

As for the loanee thing. I said i thought you were being obtuse because you're intelligent enough to know what i was getting at. A good and effective centre half pairing is built on an understanding between the two. That brings about a will to win and fight for your mate alongside you. You communicate better and eventually know instictively what your partner will do. You build a trust too. A loanee who rocked up in the last 7-14 days simply cannot cover that. A month or so back would have allowed time to build some form of understanding. Thats all i was saying. No point bemaoning the fact we didn't bring someone in on Thursday / Friday because there would have been every chance he'd come up short too.

Anyway, rant over!

Reading have equalized against Yeovil and seeing as Yeovil is down to 9 men they will surely go on to lose this now. Talk about a sh1tty saturday.....

Edit: And to make it even more perfect Kilgallon goes off with an injury

Fair dos. But I still maintain that a decent defender will slot in alongside anyone. It might take time to develop an understanding but I'm as confident as I can be (in a hypothetical discussion) that a PL quality defender would have done much, much better alongside Kilgallon than an out of position full back. Heck, with so little to play for this season, it might have been worth the risk putting Evans in there.

So, so frustrating.

The play offs can be firmly put to bed after today when Reading go onto win. What an abject shower of @#/?. Time for Bowyer to get a centre half in, drop Williamson and never put Markus Olsson in a Rovers team ever again. No pace and no creativity whatsoever in that side too.

Kilgallon injured too. Only one man to blame here I'm afraid. Bad luck or no bad luck it's @#/? poor planning.

He may have been in ridiculous wages but he was one of best performers this season.

Selling Dann proved our ambitions fir this season.......cut the wage bill at every opportunity and regardless of the consequence.
