Rovers say undisclosed fee yet some saying he was out of contract this summer at Oxford, so more like compensation agreed or a fee to avoid going to a tribunal?

Good player. Under 23 so will have to pay something - agreed it upfront rather than compo.

Don’t know much about this one but he seems well rated and young enough and will be a cheap addition so all looks decent on paper

I saw him play a few times for United u23s and he always played well and stood out but never seen him play first team football. He played like a de bruyne role for Belgium. Pleased with signing. A few more of these Tony lad

value? Less risk in a free/lower league wage match so probably but the proof is in the pudding.

Position we need? Yes, an option for Evans/Smallwood

Potential? Yes, rated and ex prem youth.

He starts at overall 60 on FIFA 18 ..not a good sign. Most of Oxfords squad rated higher ?

Reading the Oxford forum it seems he's been played out wide and as a  no.10. Injury prone, inconsistent but technically gifted and very good on his day seems the general consensus. We shall see.

Armstrong has been played in the same position for Rovers that Rothwell has played for Oxford. Armstrong has rarely played as a striker for Rovers.
