Our previous head of consumer came into the club, initially as head of marketing. At 24.

He had been a marketing manager at Bournemouth before that, having worked his way up from intern in 4 years. Immediately before his internship, he was working hospitality at a golf club.

There will be hordes of applicants for the job. I’m genuinely considering applying myself (I’m not qualified) to see how stringent the process is.

Be careful what you wish for

Hoping to, planning to, wanting to.

Actions speak louder than words. Whoever gets it will last 18 months tops before they give up or jump ship due to ridiculous ways of these owners.

I see Nixon is also suggesting the tax case could be resolved within the next month HOPEFULLY allowing the owners to invest. Heard all this before but at least it keeps the transfer tittle tattle flowing for the summer.

and before we know it,kick-off time will have come round and we'll be scrambling around to get a squad together.

Makes no difference who the CEO is at this club. Will be sidelined by Suhail and just need to focus on cutting costs.

Also, as if a potential end to this legal case is going to prompt a desire to invest. They hadnt been even prior to the case.

Parkinson was the guy i watched on a podcast recently and he spoke really well he didn't sound like a guy ready to leave Plymouth he clearly had a plan in place for the expected relegation and rebuild.

Talked about the 200k plus population of Plymouth and the huge catchment area they have and his plans to build the club.

I don't know whether to be worried or positive and them being after a guy like that but the reason will be he is cheap because of relegation and their small budget.

What does he know about turning an ailing big championship club into a promotion contender on no budget though ???

Unsurprising. The days of us luring people away from other clubs, even Plymouth Argyle in League One, are gone.

I still expect that we will end up with an internal appointment or the remaining stooges stepping up and making do with no CEO.

Cost and obedience are the two most important considerations. They will however need a box ticker to ensure the League requirements are all complied with and I have my doubts as to whether the remaining triumvirate have the necessary capabilities to even do that.

A bit more to it than wearing a fancy suit, waving your arms around on camera and posting on twitter.

They would have already given it Gestede if there wasn’t so much unrest already at the club. Will just drag it out and quietly appoint him in a few months I expect

The whole search for a CEO is likely to just be another sham media performance before they appoint Gestede as "no one else wanted the job".

It's a funny one as unlike the other positions they fill with nobodies who are totally unqualified and inexperienced, CEO is a position that carries a certain weight to it and a level of expectation as to what powers and responsibilities an individual in that position would have. Anyone we get externally will just be another gravy train rider who is willing to just be a sham CEO and take orders from the guy beneath them.

I don't see Gestede being made the CEO for us this summer. If so, the owners would have done it straight away. They don't care about bad press otherwise they would have made a different decision over the women team and actually invested more than the minimum and they could have made some investment in the women's team and got promotion plus good PR from it. If I was the Rovers owner I would have invested a couple of million into the team and go for promotion, the interest in the Rovers women team isn't alot but having a better overall strategy to increase attendance but also make good PR for the club and the women game interest and popularly is increase even tho it isn't for myself.

On the CEO, Parkinson's CV is more than decent enough and understand the role and his previous role at Liverpool means he understand how a football club is run but also been part of Plymouth's success.

Nicko says Venkys has appointed a headhunt agency to find a new CEO so that's rules Gestede out surely.

If they are indeed looking externally, why does that automatically mean that Gestede is ruled out?

He may well have already applied, knowing full well that they're inviting external candidates. It's how most recruitment works.

Sky Sports News saying nothing in Parkinson to us, he's happy there.

Would expect nothing less, the story is coming from the same prick who seems to think Man United are interested in Pears. Worst football 'journalist' on the planet.

if Venkys want to appoint Gestede they would have done it already in my opinion. Why employing an employment agency to find a CEO if the leading candidate is already within your organisation.

I think it will still be another month or so before we appoint a new CEO

Owners and their stooge are probably desperate for a new CEO - as cheap as possible - because it is another shield front of house for them.

Anything to move the spotlight even if it costs 300k per year.

Bolton have appointed a new CEO who has joined from Plymouth - I wonder if a certain hack has been mixed a bottle? 😂

They have also reported that 15000 season have been sold.

Venkys ownership has killed just about everything else in one way or another so season ticket sales just go hand in hand with that.

Nobody trusts them from one week to the next even most of their 'defend the status quo' mob if they are being honest.
