Last season Ewood was used (I'm sure I read there was a financial inducement to do so) but I can't see it being used now given the status they have been dropped to. Hiring another ground can be expensive. I know that a few years ago it was £2k per match to use the LFA facility in Leyland. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if it's something they hadn't thought of. They used to play on Griffin park. Edited Thursday at 10:52 by rigger Quote

I don't know if they can do BCD for competitive matches, but in the last few years the likes of Bristol City and West Ham have had their women's teams play at their training grounds as standard. Is Brockhall set up for hosting spectators? Maybe something at UCLan? Seems York City and Durham Cestrians in Rovers's new division play on university facilities. Quote
Rogerb Posted Thursday at 11:02 Posted Thursday at 11:02 The ladies were playing at bamber bridge not that long ago can see that venue being revisited. Quote

Upside Down Posted Thursday at 22:59 Posted Thursday at 22:59 Anyone who thinks they wouldn't do this to the mens team as well is living in an alternate reality. They already deliberately relegated the club from the premier league. Get ready for the messaging being put out that the championship is too expensive for the club to compete in and we've got to adjust expectations accordingly. It's coming. 1 Quote

The women's youth teams are already based at UClan, York City play at the Uni, small stadium in the middle of an athletics track. York City u23 play there also. Surely we'd be better playing at local clubs in step 2, 3 or 4 with 3g facilities, investing in local infrastructure rather than carting to UClan, who fund Macclesfield and PNE academy....... Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Just read this in today’s paper - “ Many players in the Women’s Super League are having to buy their own boots. ——— some players are spending up to £4000 on boots and other kit.” “ My daughter needs two pairs of boots every couple of months, and they can cost £300 “, the parent of an academy player at a WSL club said. “ How much ! What sort of boots are they buying ? My first pair of “ Puma “ boots lasted me two whole seasons and that was 2 or 3 games every weekend. I only replaced them then because I fancied a change ! My mate played in them for years afterwards. Quote

Don't forget training top, training hoodie, travel bag, walk out jacket, warm up trackies, leg-only socks, and branded gloves, that doubtless must have home, away and third versionss and maybe even seasonal variants (can't be expected to wear the warm weather gear in a UK February), all of which change on an annual basis. Maybe a fourth edition too if they play in a certain location or tournament. For all the social awareness on green issues everyone apparently has now, it doesn't seem to stop cluba producing a load of needless shite. Quote

The boots nowadays are synthetic shite made in the cheapest sweatshops the company can find. Modern clothing is awful quality and made with cheap plastic unless you spend an absolute fortune. Look at football shirts. The old ASICS ones from the 90s I have are still in new condition. Made in the UK as well. Compare that to the cheap shit you get now. When you look into the way the clothing industry operates it's no wonder our whole global ecosystem is completely fucked. Edited 3 hours ago by Upside Down Quote
