Mattyblue Posted August 2 Posted August 2 Whoa hang on, they do provide kits for the first team (no intel on who washes them though - perhaps the captain’s mum and dad?) Quote

Andy Posted August 2 Posted August 2 To be fair, James is a really good - and highly qualified coach. I've worked with him briefly and know some of the work he's done at clubs like Accy Stanley. Good appointment, in my opinion. 5 Quote
Bronzed A Donis Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Good luck to him. He obviously cares and I hope he does a good job, he will learn a hell of a lot from trying to form a competent side from the ashes. 5 Quote

Rogerb Posted August 14 Posted August 14 While you are waiting in the queue on the phone for the ticket office the club is still advertising tickets for women's games in the championship. Quote
arbitro Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Rovers Women lost 2-0 to Cheadle Town Stingers in their opening league match. I haven't seen anything mentioned about this from Rovers. Quote
Mattyblue Posted August 18 Posted August 18 There is a report on the website ‘Reflecting on the match, new Rovers head coach James Mallett said: “I am incredibly proud of the team.Considering we’ve only had three sessions together and one friendly in just 15 days’ Sounds like something out of the newsletter of Lammack Juniors or whoever, not a side that was one promotion away from the Women’s Super League a few months ago… and that’s me doing a disservice to the organisation of Lammack Juniors. 6 Quote
RevidgeBlue Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Beaten by Cheadle Town Stingers. Wonder how long it'll be before similar ignominy is being heaped on the mens' side? 1 Quote
StHelensRover Posted August 18 Posted August 18 Another feather in the cap from the Venkys and Suhail. Gone from a team producing European champions to losing against teams no one has ever heard of. All because they won't give the women's team roughly the amount of money they spent on Dennis, one of the worst ever signings in the history of the men's team. 7 1 Quote

GHR Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) 23 minutes ago, TheKitGuy said: Believe they lost again this weekend? Indeed, 1-0 to Doncaster Rovers Belles at Millmoor. Not that you'd know if you don't have social media as the last two Women's news pieces on the Rovers website were the appointment of the manager and a match report for their first defeat to Cheadle Town. Seemingly they didn't bother for last weekend's loss at Durham Cestria. If you look at the Fixtures page on the Rovers website, it lists that first game of the season v. Cheadle Town and nothing more. No further fixtures and certainly no Results. I also note you can no longer purchase Rovers Women tickets online. A tremendously half-arsed approach all round. Mind you, it's not as if English women's football is booming. Oh, hang on- Edited 4 hours ago by GHR Sp. 4 Quote
Backroom Tom Posted 4 hours ago Backroom Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Do we manage to field a team and full set of subs? I remember a couple of decades back seeing Rishton ladies playing Everton or one of the big clubs down on the field behind Norden, Rovers ladies don’t seem far from being back at that point. A remarkable step back. Edited 4 hours ago by Tom Quote
