Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted Tuesday at 17:27 Moderation Lead Posted Tuesday at 17:27 They’re far more interested in trimming the wage budget so they look good to Venky’s, than a higher league position. The enemy of Rovers, those tossers. 6 Quote

Might give an indicator where Suhail wants us to reach... If it is the £10K/week mark, then its well above top end of League 1 level, which isn't much more than half of that (not including teams like Birmingham last season etc), however it is on the same sort of level as Huddersfield, Rotherham and Plymouth when they were last in the Championship - note they all went down with that level of wage budget No doubt if and when relegation occurs, they will again cut their cloth "accordingly" Edited Tuesday at 17:38 by KentExile 2 Quote

What you could get for that ten years ago vastly exceeds what you can get now. 3 Quote

Going to be a lot harder to sell someone who is on a good wage if they can't make it into our very average team during a defensive crisis. Who do we think is going to pick up these high wages for us? We might shift him this way but it will be for a minimal fee and with us covering a chunk of his wages. Pure speculation on my part but he is approaching 150 appearances for the club perhaps there is an element of avoiding paying an appearance bonus at play. 1 Quote

Maybe, it would be another strange one though as usually a new contract would reset appearances essentially...ie it would be when you make 150 appearances after signing the contract. 1 Quote
47er Posted Tuesday at 20:40 Posted Tuesday at 20:40 Whatever the reason its poor do. Pickering should have played last Saturday and is clearly being frozen out. Probably because we can get a decent fee with which we can buy 2 or 3 players with it from Luxemburg and St Helena. 4 Quote

He's incredibly slow and probably about 5'8" - so he doesn't have a position in our new formation. Quote

G Somerset Rover Posted yesterday at 09:55 Posted yesterday at 09:55 (edited) There's typically never any smoke without fire under Venky's rein, so it adds up that he barely kicks a ball for us now despite being in favour under much better managers. He may not be the best LB in the league but he's dependable. And who would you prefer at LCB, Pickering or Ryan Hedges?! Yet again, penny pinching over what is best for Blackburn Rovers football club. Edited yesterday at 09:55 by G Somerset Rover 6 Quote
Crimpshrine Posted yesterday at 10:29 Posted yesterday at 10:29 (edited) The sudden lack of games for Ribeiro is odd too. Did we sign him on a free with the intention of selling at a profit in January ? Edited yesterday at 11:22 by Crimpshrine 1 Quote

I wouldnt have any objection to selling him in Jan but in the meantime we're cutting off our nose to spite our face by not playing him there. 3 Quote

Not playing someone in order to sell them only works when the player isn't willing to leave otherwise. I doubt we have any players in that category these days, probably not even Scott Wharton. 1 Quote

Signed from Crewe on a relative low wage I'm guessing and only had one new contract since. just watched this and if its right he is on 13k more than scott wharton. Quote

Yes I am sure that Scott Wharton signed a contract 2 years ago when he was a regular in the first team squad on a lower wage than Kristi Montgomery, who at the time he signed his last contract had never made a senior appearance at any level And that is assuming that this video (which looks as AI made as I have ever seen) was made before Whartons more recent contract last month Quote
