Alot of Americans on the concourse last game I felt awful him getting to the front of the queue at half time only to be told "we haven't got anything left apart from chips"

He said "I guess I'll have to take 3 of those" and was gingerly handed 3 sorry looking portions of chips all falling out into the counter... he walked away looking at them and I was just pure secondhand embarrassed.  You could see people glancing over saying yep that's what we have to eat

Heard there has been an approach to Venky's to buy the club and understand the numbers involved are substantial.  If correct, it would be interesting to know the dynamics - are V's now seeking to sell or is it some wealthy outfit who see an opportunity and are looking to make a splash?

It is what I've been told.  It hasn't come from a 'Joe' at the 'Dog and Duck' so I tend to think there is some credibility in the information.  Seems there have been approaches before but this feels different.  We can only wait and see with fingers crossed it is accurate and achieves the desired result.

I think it's fairly obvious that there has been a substantial softening in their attitude to a potential sale over the last two or three years IF a credible offer comes in.

Let's hope there's some substance to the rumour and the potential buyers are serious players.

A few years ago, I posted on this MB about Battersby and associates approaching V's to take a stake in Rovers.  There hadn't been a whiff about this anywhere.  A few days later, local media caught-up!

I was in two minds whether to post today what I have done knowing there would be cynicism from some.

I post in good faith but you really wonder whether it's worth the aggravation.

I've had a suspicion there could be something going on with the desperate need for cash being evident in every offer the club spew out...that said, I'm so desperate for that to be the case I'll believe anything so I'm on board the Mercer Hype Train

If this is the case and, as expected, Venkys don't even respond to the offer, the interested buyers need to get hold of the coalition and go public.
