Here’s an emoji for PNE and their recent collapse 🎻.

Hull are much more likely to go down as they need to get at least a draw at Portsmouth and that seems unlikely.

If North End lose and Hull and Luton draw they are down; unless Derby lose at home to Stoke by more than 4 goals (highly unlikely)

If PNE go down do we think they get stuck there? They're hardly a financial powerhouse - I wonder if they'd struggle to mount a promotion challenge, especially if one or two players left for cheap.

all depends what they do if they do go down. Do they have a plan if they go down? what with the Hemmings family do this summer whether they stay up or not? Does Heckingbottom stay in the summer whether they stay up or not? Plus how do they replace key players like Woodman and Riis? and then the other players either out of contract or on loan

Big questions facing the Hemmings family and Ridsdale after next weekend.

From what I have seen, Preston fans will be happy to get rid of Riis and Woodman.

ive always thought woodman was shite and riis has`nt looked the same player since he got back from his bad injury,he looked a very good player a few seasons ago

Riis 11 goals this season. More than good enough at this level

Woodman, one of the best keepers at this level.

Based on what I seen?

I think PNE (like us) will always have the history angle, players like reflected glory and will be willing to sign for them. I wouldn’t bet on them getting stuck in L1.

No chance, they will want to win the league (they sing about winning it at Ewood often enough). Personally I wouldn't give a shite about it, it's winning promotion outside of the prem, nothing else!

That twat Ashley Barnes would potentially have a different opinion mind.

Yep he's very Pearsy with the mistakes he makes. If Stoke somehow went down Johansson would be just splendid though. They'll just about survive for another season at least though you'd have thought.

Dingles very much pushing the narrative that they only spent £18m, Transfermarket has them down as spending £55m.

I must be missing something here?

Since promotion was secured some of the loans they had became permanent deals so it might be that?

The line they keep spouting is "Parker only spent £18m" so i've assumed that players were brought in before he joined? I dunno. Even if it's a loan turned permanent, it still counts, there isn't any escaping that they spent circa £55m, which is a hell of a lot at this level.

All the ‘loans with an obligation to buy’ are moving purchase all over the place. I imagine it’s done to stay within PSR regs.

If we accept transfermkt as a source of truth (it isn’t but probably best we have) then we’ve spent around 45 million in GBP. That would include the purchases last season of Esteve, Tresor covering about 26 million of that. It doesn’t include this seasons loans with an obligation on promotion (Anthony, Fleming and Humphries) so in real terms about 45 million is probably fairly close. We did also sell about 110 million worth of players.

Scott Parker Manager of the year? Dunno bout that.  Hope it does not carry the curse if Manager if the month.  My pick would be John Eustace.  Much as I hate to say.it Lampard did a good job. Uh gotta have a game to watch.

If Bristol City were to go up then it has to be Manning in my opinion. Bristol City are on paper no better than most mid table Championship sides really, and it goes to show can be achieved by non parachute payment clubs.
