I just find it annoying when, of everything there is to be angry about, people are upset at the prospect of a player being sold, especially someone we've brought in from an obscure league mainly to make a profit on him in the future! I do not think that it is the sales that people get upset about, its that with proper contract management, most sales are either completely avoidable, or we would be able to ask for much higher fees, which could then (in theory at least) lead to us having more to invest on improving the squad. The frustration comes from trying to save a few pennies in the here and now by not attempting to renew contracts until the last minute, or offering derisory wages (when compared to our rivals), which in turn leads to panicked sales (with a year left on the players contracts) for a relative pittance Edited October 13 by KentExile 4 Quote

You don't generally buy goalkeepers with the prospect of making a profit on them. They rarely change hands for high values. Any profits in question are usually small compared to profits from spending similar amounts on outfield players. Quote
roverblue Posted yesterday at 16:31 Posted yesterday at 16:31 Gradually becoming one of our star players with Cantwell and Abeiosu. Does anyone know when his contract is up as be a shame to lose him next summer if going into his last 12 months? Quote

Upside Down Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago Just watched the extended Highlights of the Southampton game and the brief Leicester highlights. This guy is the real deal and will be at a top club within a year or two. 1 Quote

Tugayisgod Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Hope to God I'm wrong but please don't let it be an ACL injury. It looked so innocuous at the time but those can sometimes be the worst. Quote

Looked innocuous but… Quote
rigger Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago If Toth is out for a while, it may not be the end of the world. What would be required, is for Pears to stand up and prove that he is a professional goal-keeper. I hope if called upon, he can do that. Quote

jim mk2 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Bad tackle from behind, got up, my knee felt a bit odd but OK and tried to play on, then I collapsed in a heap. Damaged PCL. It was my last ever game of football, never played again. Hope Toth is OK Quote

He did have plenty of clean sheets by my recollection but that was more down to the defence than him making saves. He can make good saves, his main problem is indecision, he just doesn't know whether to go for the ball or stay on his line, so he ends up doing neither. He won't be a catastrophe but Toth definitely has won us some points by making spectacular stops. Given that we don't score many that has been important 1 Quote

He's so much better than Pears it's untrue. 7 Quote

However, the hope is that our back 3/5 can perform how they did last night, where an empty tube of Pringles would have kept a clean sheet. Quote

Pears is a professional goal-keeper. What he has to prove is that he is worthy of the title. Personally, I don't think he will, but I hope he does. Quote
Andy Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I mean, a basic level of competence would probably be a baseline requirement? Yet to see it from him - and he was our first choice for an extended period of time. Quote
