There's a hint of Steve Kean syndrome about Gestede imo.

In terms of he's over ambitious and his connections have rushed him into a position way above his head but now he's there he'll say anything to remain there.

No doubt he wants the team to be successful but he needs to realise pretty quickly only the truth will suffice here there is no tolerance for flannel or BS.  They say once bitten twice shy well you can times that by 100 for this remaining fanbase never mind the fact Lancastrians can see lies coming from a thousand paces away.

You aren't a politician Rudy so don't spin like one.

Plenty of questions to be asked of Rudy, at the fans forum.

Turning out to be the longest saga(s) ever? (these contract “negotiations”).

Or is it an (unlikely) case of no news is…..

Contradicts Gestede’s comments a few months ago when he suggested we were close to announcing some extensions - same old story.

I'm sure Rovers would point to the number of youngsters who have signed extensions as a success but the reality is these kids would have been easy to deal with as, in the main they just want to be professional footballers. Dealing with established players is a whole different ball game and Rovers have been found wanting.

I would imagine that is why any negotiations for potential new signings seem to be so protracted. I just don't believe we have smart enough negotiators in situ who can get deals over the line. I really think it will get to the point where the players and their representatives just say 'sod this' and are either sold or let their contracts just run down.

He seems to be saying "I'd like them to stay but we're going to lose them because of the contract situation".

Shrug of the shoulders, "Nothing to do with me Guv, blame it on the previous administration."

I find him completely uninspiring myself. Only here to pick up his pay cheque. Not a scrap of ambition about him.

Travis said to the fans on Saturday he was still waiting on a contract offer.

Which one is telling porkies - Travis or VI?

Mabe Travis's answer of "When they offer me one" really meant "when they offer me one worth considering".

Every manager and player is here solely for the pay cheque to be fair.

A convenient by-product of the ever revolving exit door and turnover of staff at Rovers is that every time a new manager/CEO/Head of turns up they can just blame whoever came before them and ask for a fresh start and a clean slate.

The problem of course is that the cause of everything - the owners and their henchmen - are still here, so it just keeps on happening.

I've no doubt people like Ismael will be saying that once we've got shut of Travis, Tronstad and Brittain 'it won't happen again' and we will learn lessons. And I suspect he will be sincere in that. But he won't be here for long and then the Regime will replace him with someone else who will be in exactly the same position.

Ismael is actually blaming Rudy when he says that. JE wanted the contracts sorted before Christmas and that was Rudy’s job.

Not really, some like Eustace and JDT want to do well and be successful in addition to just collecting their wage.

They all want to do well, that success will lead to bigger future pay cheques.

I thought that when I read it at first - I thought "What is he talking about,he's just blaming the same people that are there now."

I suppose you you could spin it to pin the blame on Waggott who has form for this going back a number of years but yes, that's no excuse why Rudy couldn't have sorted it himself.

Not true, Mowbray being a key case in point without wanting to rehash the same old argument.

I saw a quote tweet here on that but I wouldn’t believe it, plus it’s also conceivable that Rudy et al are lying to VI. However I’d argue the most likely outcome is he’s been offered something and he’s waiting for a better offer.

It’s hardly his fault that the club aren’t proactive or attempting to be more competitive with wages. It’s just nice to hear the manager actually say it. Eustace never said anything of such and just left, and JDT repeatedly blamed the project changing without much depth after every defeat.

I dont want to hear him say it as he waves them out of the door, anyone worth his salt who really wanted to keep the trio would have persuaded the powers that be to stump up the funds to keep them.

Not exactly, but they both did the honourable thing and walked when the situation became untenable for them.

If VI does the same at some point I'll have a similar level of respect. If he doesn't and just puts up with whatever **** they throw at him as we decline, I won't.

I did suspect that V was going to be a yes man, but I’m not too sure now.

I agree with what you have said and do think he will do one, if things go pear shaped, due to them not backing him.

It doesn't matter at Rovers once the ink is dry on the contract you can say what you want.

You might rile the SD or CEO sorry COO or whatever his imaginary title is but they won't sack you because

A - Can't afford to

B - Don't have the outright power to do so.

So once feet are under the table you are quids in, won't get sacked, do well in difficult circumstances but regularly hint at your frustrations and other clubs will be watching.  Then engineer your own exit, may take a while but it'll come and even though those above you are aware they can't do anything about it unless Pune gets angry.  Even then they'll try and head it off because they also might get the boot for recommending you in the first place.

They'll also get a pat on the back if they rake in compen.

Ismael will view this like the others as a stepping stone back into a better job and more money all he has to do is keep the team stable in the league and try and coach value into individuals.

The big lad is quids in here regardless.

So am I right in thinking that there is still no announcement from the Club on the future of David Lowe, who apparently has left according to Ismael but the Club hasn't had the decency to announce it yet.

Also after the appalling statement confirming the departure of the previous CEO after 7.5 years the club is yet to announce a replacement, timescale, update or indeed who is running the club in Waggott's place at the current time?

Communication eh?
