Back when we complained about it we believed part of transfer funds received would be put back into recruitment. 

Gestede has made it clear that the budget is set and it doesn't go up when we sell a player.Id rather these players stayed for the season and leave on a free if the money received for them just means the owners send less over

Tronstad is focused on finishing the season strongly but reiterated that he would be happy to renew his terms at Ewood Park.

 

"Yes, I'd really like to be here. I'd really like to play here in the future and years to come," Tronstad said.

"I like the players and fans, the club in general and the league.  I would like to stay. I haven't had any talks about a new deal. I'm open for it, really. 

Can't find the Brittain one, maybe I've imagined that but suspect he's in the same boat despite certain claims suggesting he's close to a new deal here.

Correct but the money will disappear into paying bills and another good players is gone.

We lose players now because they aren't offering favourable terms early enough that much has been clear for a while. We were used to having players poached every now again its always happened but the past few years we are now active sellers, not trader, sellers.

I have little doubt Brittain's agent will be testing the waters and if there are warm overtures from any half decent club then I think it's game over.  In the Championship I would only consider Sheff Wed as a worse option than Rovers and I have little doubt that any other interested Championship club would offer Brittain a better deal than what Rovers are offering.

With player retention and the signing of new players, I think we only stand a chance if it's a one horse race which means our market comprises those players who are simply not good enough at Championship level.

Sadly, I think we are locked in a vicious circle and are done for as a credible progressive club with real ambition.

I've been worried about Trons & Cal leaving since the 3rd whistle blew a month ago.............& it's gonna be a long summer........... Especially if one of the promoted clubs see either as a good, cheap chance to take.

I'm simply stating that the article is nothing more than another "blah-blah" piece in this "summer scouting" series Elliott Jackson has come up with to fill time while we wait for real news (good, or more likely BAD) to come.

Don't know whether this has been asked before but is it possible there is a link between the potential change to PSR linking wage spend to turnover and the lack of significant contract extensions beyond the end of this coming season? If there is then surely there is an increased cursive of Brittain, Tronstad, Hyam etc getting sold this summer?

And theres now an article saying we have a "verbal" offer to Tyjon that as of yet hasnt led to a new deal.

We have a busy 3 weeks or so ahead. Ismael wants 90% of business done by pre season, and as far as I can see, we need a right back, centre back, 2 central midfielders, an attacking midfielder, 2 wingers and a striker. Thats before potential replacements for the players about to enter their final year. Ismael said he wanted 6 or 7 and that was when we assumed Batth and Weimann were staying.

With our well run club, I am sure that we will have 7 of those 8 players all ready to go for pre season to satisfy Ismael, and deals for Tronstad, Travis and Brittain all sorted as after all, we couldnt possibly offer them anything mid season.

Seems like on that Sagnan, 2 weeks after saying we were in advanced talks. Jackson only ever occasionally mentions it and just repeats that he has reported that. No suggestion that anything has or will happen on that.

That's because it won't, it was never a serious link.

Even free transfers are out of the question here as they usually entail a bigger signing on fee.

I imagine we'll start putting a few moves together in August like we did last year, loans, maybe free agents who haven't been snapped up yet that have lowered there demands etc.

Playing side will be tailored to be merely competitive in keague one.  Venkies will slowly grind us into dust.  I fear for Blackburn Rovers football club.  The big club loving footy authorities set up of being able to basically steal any good talent from clubs like us will not help.  Had that situation not been in effect Phillips would be in our game day squad and we could be hanging a multi million price tag in him.  Very worried, and expecting another manager exit of his own accord shortly after January, though I am not so bothered about nasal Ishmael.

As always, I think the 3 stooges (now 2 stooges) have just been lying to us consistently. Clearly the court case in India is having a serious impact on the club and despite a few leaked stories about players signing new contracts or being in advanced talks with potential signings, we're more likely to see players like Travis, Tronstad, Hyam and Brittain sold to cover the costs for the owners. 

The club will spin any number of various lines to cover their backs, from blaming the players for being greedy or not blocking pathways for academy players. 

Its all bullshit and I'm fucking fed up with it all.
