In the event money was requested for signings and allowed by the court are they going to effectively pay 50% more on a player because of the bond/guarantee ?

I'd 110% say no they won't so it's a non starter and we hold out hope that they send full funds to cover running costs and any instalment income goes towards signings.

Again i'm 90% certain that's not happening either but how else can we sign anybody ?

We could try Sheffield United’s approach of buying players we don’t have the money to pay for.

In the near future i wouldn't be surprised if we are the first club in championship history to field regularly a first 11 entirely made up of academy grads and loanees.

So seems like it was literally just rumours to appease fans

Of course it was.

Advanced talks were laughable.

Called it a few days before we were linked that a name would he dropped any time now as a distraction technique.

True, none of us (other than the keepers) know how good or otherwise Benson is. It just gets a bit tiresome when people with no knowledge of his ability as a coach criticise him with no foundation.Β

Could our crap keepers who leave and become steadfast reliable prem keepers even great ones be some form of clue no? Add to that he's not a keeper, or ever been one.Β  What is he coaching from, a book cos it is not experience is it?

Sagnan being touted at 5million…..advanced talks my backside misleading headline. Should read more like enquiry never a chance we compete at those levels. Of all off seasons this is going to be the worst by some distanceΒ

Β£5m!?

so, clearly we were never, ever signing this guy.

Hoped we might have at least lined up some freebies like PNE but even that looks a no go.

grim

There is clearly no money.Β

Season ticket sales are pathetic, the sponsorship money is miniscule and we aren't allowed to player trade (all the cash goes into running the club rather than being used to acquire new assets to perpetuate the cycle - y'know, short-term, short-sighted thinking).Β

We're in massive, massive financial trouble, with the few remaining assets sold to keep the lights on - because our benevolent owners refuse to loosen the death grip they have on the club.

I'll be straight with you here. You've been one of the most negative posters on here - even through these recent times.Β My god I was wrong...Jackson has been completely hung out to dry with this French mon. " advanced talks" with a half decent full back? Who the fuck are we kidding? If he has any credibility he needs to be challenging this whole story form the club.

Embarrassment!Β

No, Ismael said it. Was just checking if you thought it was realistic/likely.

So 3 signings in 3 weeks? Lets see but I fear you may be disappointed.

You misunderstood my point 3 signings by the Spanish training camp in Late July

and also in the near future we'd be the first Div 1 to do that!

Fully expecting sales approaching Β£10 million this summer to keep the show going a bit longer. Travis, Britain, Tronstad, compo for Dolan. Should just about do it.

Is that story true or fake?Β

I suspect what is fake is us ever paying the fee needed to get him.

It's the anti fraud and money laundering unit they don't want money going anywhere but to pay for essential running costs of the English business i would have thought that was obvious by now.

Essential costs vs transfer costs has utterly no relevance to an anti fraud or money laundering unit. Their remit is to deal with fraud, and money laundering. As far as has been heard, there is no official allegation by them of impropriety over transfers, and even if they suspect it (which we almost all do), the judge isn't on the anti fraud or money laundering team. In theory at least, he should follow the letter of the law. Government pressure notwithstanding, he would still have to be able to justify, legally, not permitting transfer funds but allowing electricity bills. There's also a very solid argument that transfer funds are an essential cost of running a football club.

Not sure if Jackson has had his knuckles rapped after a brief spell of questioning things but he now seems to be back full square banging the Company drum.

A headline this week was "First out of contract Rovers player signs contract extension".

Happy days you might have thought.Β  Probably Brittain with whom we've allegedly been in protracted discussions?

(No)

OK, Dolan, Travis, Tronstad?

(No)

Actually a lad called Felix Goddard who I must confess I've never heard of. Apparently a 21 year old keeper out on loan at Ebbsfleet United who again Ive never heard of but he must be (at best) 5th choice keeper as he'll be behind Toth, Pears, Michaelowski (sp) and Jack Barrett.

At points like this, with headlines like that, Jackson is actively taking the piss out of the fans.

It’s click bait, part of his job is to get people to read his stories by subscribing. It’s a bit silly to say he’s ’actively taking the piss out of fans’.Β
