Popular Post JHRover Posted July 2 Popular Post Posted July 2 We are undeniably weaker than we were last season.Β We've lost Batth, our best defender, 15 goals a season in Dolan and Weimann, together with useful contributions from people such as Beck and Sanderson, have failed to secure new contracts for any key players and are likely to lose more important players as a result. So how Nixon reckons we are in 'ok shape' just now is hard to fathom. 15 Quote

Brereton, a far better player than Dolan, didn't cut it in Spain. Think Championship is Dolan's level. Edited July 2 by Mercer 2 Quote

Injured for a month within 2 days of being here. Just a hunch, but I dont think Taveres will impact the first team at all this season. i know that the transfer market site isn't the most accurate of sites but it states Tavares MV (market value) is 800K yet we have supposedly paidΒ 2K. AlsoΒ Moreirense F.C.Β who we bought him from had a average attendanceΒ 2,387 last season and only won 10 games. BOLLOCKSΒ Β Players and managers keep on walking away from this club, and people keep on making absurd excuses to try to justify it. Batth in particular should have been an easy deal to get sorted, instead he moves across to a divisional rival.Β Constant degradation, constant embarassment and constantly bloody painful. Can't wait for the excuses to start when Trav, Brittain and Tronstad do the same in 12 months time.Β Β 14 Quote
Southside Rover Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Personally only see us signing a CB and either an Attacking Mid or a RW. Based on what we have, assuming no one else leaves apart from Dolan and the talk around youth development. Not saying it's what I'd do, not saying it supports the "exciting summer" we were promised but looking at what we have and based on 2 options for each position ish, it's what I think will develop from here Quote

Good luck to them but we knew several weeks they weren't staying here, lets be hobest Just rumours but its now the second of July and still not sign for anyone yet. Nicko has said foreign options he is looking at.Β We are skint when was the last time they made a real investment in a player ? Not one for a few hundred grand per year payment or 'a fee of up to' which means lots of add on's to a low original price ? Szmodics probably ? And that was on the back of sales the previous year so maybe there is a slim chance this summer of laying some real money down on one player with Championship or league 1 pedigree. As for Batth and Weimann yes their loyalty was always to Eustace not Rovers but funnily enough BOTH stated they were happy and really wanted to stay here. Jackson in the LT highlighted both were brought in by Eustace on low wages last summer with a point to prove. They proved their points, now they are at Derby...... no doubt on better wages. Β 2 Quote
