Thought Dolan would have secured a move by now.

He needs to be into his pre season.

Just hope it’s not Derby he goes to.Β

Their deluded fans are driving me mad on social media thinking they are going to be a top six club all of a sudden!

Eustace has proven himself capable of grinding out wins based on an excellent defence. There’s every chance they’ll be up there challenging for a Β top 6 position.Β

That applies to every player.

And usually it applies more-so, the older you get.

BUT,Just all stop moaning and get them Season Tickets bought...exciting times these for all.

Dolan won't be sold, he is a free agent.

Could still be "sold" to be fair, a club might offer us a fee to save it going to tribunal.

And the Rovers might refuse it.

Not sure if the compensation fee will disrupt his move to certain clubs. Can see if going to Spain where he will get more wages if the compensation fee will be minimalΒ

Don't think he's technically, or football intelligence wise, good enough for European clubs who want a tad more than hard graft.

Brereton, a far better player than Dolan, didn't cut it in Spain.

Think Championship is Dolan's level.

Out:

  • Weimann
  • Baath
  • Dolan
  • Dennis
  • Woodrow
  • Beck
  • Sanderson
  • Cozier Duberry

In:

  • De Neve
  • Tavares

Simple maths so far suggests we are WAY behind anything like being in a stronger position than last year.

I don't think so.

I think that him and Tavares were probably identified, and that Tavares was cheaper so we went for him.

Injured for a month within 2 days of being here.

Just a hunch, but I dont think Taveres will impact the first team at all this season.

i know that the transfer market site isn't the most accurate of sites but it states Tavares MV (market value) is 800K yet we have supposedly paidΒ  2K. AlsoΒ Moreirense F.C.Β  who we bought him from had a average attendanceΒ  2,387 last season and only won 10 games. There is no way we would have over paid , his stats as a defensive midfielder don't really excite meΒ  much 76 appearances for pretty much mundane teams in uneventful campaignsΒ  and 1 career goalΒ

Big step up for this lad.if he is to feature regulalrly

Agree. Don't see him ever making it in the Prem unless he can find himself a head coach that can knock some of his poor decision making on the head.

Personally only see us signing a CB and either an Attacking Mid or a RW. Based on what we have, assuming no one else leaves apart from Dolan and the talk around youth development.

Not saying it's what I'd do, not saying it supports the "exciting summer" we were promised but looking at what we have and based on 2 options for each position ish, it's what I think will develop from here

Batth hardly played for Norwich the season before last. Using your logic we shouldn't have signed him and get he turned out to be our best defender and will be a huge miss next season.

That still doesn't mean he would be any good next season. He may well be, but only time will tell.Β

Only 4 of those I'd be anywhere near interested in retaining, and only two for definiteΒ

Lol.

At least he's being honest and isn't giving it the " I saw them on TV when I was a kid and have been a Rovers fan all my life" spiel.

clearly not skint if we were signing players where we.Β

Weimann and Batth were close to Eustace and that is reason why they go there. Good luck to them but we knew several weeks they weren't staying here, lets be hobest

Just rumours but its now the second of July and still not sign for anyone yet. Nicko has said foreign options he is looking at.Β

We are skint when was the last time they made a real investment in a player ?

Not one for a few hundred grand per year payment or 'a fee of up to' which means lots of add on's to a low original price ?

Szmodics probably ? And that was on the back of sales the previous year so maybe there is a slim chance this summer of laying some real money down on one player with Championship or league 1 pedigree.

As for Batth and Weimann yes their loyalty was always to Eustace not Rovers but funnily enough BOTH stated they were happy and really wanted to stay here. Jackson in the LT highlighted both were brought in by Eustace on low wages last summer with a point to prove.

They proved their points, now they are at Derby...... no doubt on better wages.

I don't think he's in a position yet where he needs to grab the first contract offered to him.

His next move will probably define his career.
