In reference to why he joined: "It's clear everyone is pulling the same direction". A subtle dig at how things are run at Rovers I suspect. Not the first time a player has said that upon joining a new club. Certain posters won't listen though. Apparently everyone is pulling in the same direction here. 7 Quote

Dreams of 1995 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Last season was Brittains best season he had for us. With that memory still fresh, it seems a bad loss However, he is a replaceable player. This isnβt a Sammie Szmodics moment Brittain was very good going forward and proved a reliable outlet. He allowed us to play out from the back as if we managed to spread it to him in space heβd cover ground very quickly. By all accounts, theyβre the same attributes Millar has Where Brittain let himself down is his defending. He got beat quite a bit and allowed too many crosses in for me. Millar is supposedly better at that aspect of the game. If we do manage to get that deal over the line then the blow of losing him is softenedΒ 6 Quote

Players voting with their feet and can you blame them? Absolutely obvious the players that are leaving/not signing contracts are not convinced of the future direction of the club.Β Replacing them with cheaper, inferior players will lead to one outcome. The squad is incredibly thin as it stands. Bleak. Β Players come and Players go, lets hope Miller if he comes plays more games than hamstring Brittan, no question a good player but only when on the pitch. our Ex players to Deby are getting on and i will be surprised if they are 1st teamers in a month or so, Dolan well Meh,Β yes great stamina but in my opinion ran forward only to pass the ball back 95% of the time. hope he does well. As for our new and potentially new players lets try toΒ be positive, this board does little more then complain and moan of course if that's what you think before any championship game then carry on and keep those dark cloudsΒ above you're heads. OHΒ and to be clear VENKYS/PASHA f RIGHT OFF.π Quote

But it also sounds like he has nowhere near the attacking ability of Brittain. So we may well get up there with him, but if it leads nowhere there isn't much point. Hopefully he's better at putting a cross in that it sounds like. 1 Quote

JHRover Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Venkys' summer costs covered in one deal and to make matters better another pesky player demanding Championship level wages out of the way. Pat on the back for chief Venky stooge Pasha as he earns his corn downgrading the club.Β And to put the icing on the cake some supporters, admittedly few in number, are falling for the 'unreasonable player' line again in their desperate deluded bid to blame anyone and anything but the utter lowlife owning and destroying BRFC. 6 Quote

Tugayisgod Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago "However, heΒ is a replaceable player. This isnβt a Sammie Szmodics moment" Correct, there isn't a single player in this current Rovers side that isn't replaceable imo. We even managed without Szmodics goals when everyone (including myself) thought we would struggle. Travis and Tronstad are both good players but limited in their abilities and hopefully the new midfield players will bring a different dynamic to the team. For what it's worth, I have only ever seen one irreplaceable player in my time watching Rovers and that of course was Shearer, simply because there was nobody better at the time. 2 Quote

The best part of downgrading the roster is no one is irreplaceable because no one is good enough to be considered as such. Job well done Venkys!Β Quote

One exceptional player at right-back will not have enough influence on the whole team. An influential player in the spine of the team may have that effect ( Adam Wharton being a prime example ).Β 1 Quote

A new feature of the regime is to 'soften the blow' of a popular player departing by throwing together a short video at Brockhall about what great times we've had. I think it began when they were seeing off people like Bennett, Graham and Dack, then there was the Adam Wharton 'always be a Rover' one and now it is common practice to do it with every half popular player.Β In contrast to the old way of things we had where they just bundled the player out the back door with a couple of sentences on the club website.Β One thing I'll give credit to the Venky stooge for is that he's learned the ways of manipulating the fanbase during his time in control. It was a bit of a circus back in 2015-16 but over time he's learned that a lot of fans will quickly forgive and forget provided the club does a little bit of PR work to go with it.Β They can almost make the operation appear normal and make out as though our activity is just all part and parcel of life.Β That and getting Jackson and Nixon doing the dirty work with 'player imminently signing non-existent contract offer' and 'Rovers backed into a corner by player' drivel.Β 1 Quote
ruggles1995 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I dont know anything about this miller, but I dont think hes played recently. According to what i can see online, he last played on the 9th july, for 32 minutes... Cant see him being a starter anytime soon. Unless thats wrong. A month without any minutes. Has he even done a preseason or has he been injured? players missing pre season tend to have poor seasons.Β Quote

Tomphil2 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Brittain now getting the Dolan 'not that good anyway' treatment nowΒ π€£ What you need to wake up to is we are a development club that;s why these lads were here this club never bought them to build a promotion team they couldn't care less about that. So..Sammie, BBD before him and now Dolan and Brittain all been developed by us, all entering their peak years, ALL leave in search of ambition and decent wages. They are all good top 10 championship players and the problem has never been with them. 6 Quote
