Its almost like saying, there is nothing we can do, FFP, our hands are tied, shit fans, our aim is to stay up and build indefinitely for something indeterminate, doesn't pay off as a strategy... Dreams of 1995 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 1 hour ago, wilsdenrover said: Why would the player have gone for the 12 month ISP when he has a three year contract? That would mean him having the right to be and work in the country for one year but being contractually tied to us for a further two. I also doubt the Home Office would grant a one year visa to someone with a three year work contract. Β Β That sort of question sits outside of the guidance to be honest. My suggestion would be that it would be in all Parties interest for it to be short term, given the opportunity to make it permanent (via the non-ESC route) if so many minutes are played in 12 months. Either way, itβs cyclical. There will be an opportunity to make Toth into a non-ESC player. It all depends on when his last visa was issued Quote

It all depends on when his last visa was issued It does and I maintain this is most likely to have been last year upon his signing. Having read the Home Office guidance it seems you can only use the short term visa if your stay in the UK is going to be under 12 months. The assumption, at point of application, must have been that Toth would be staying longer than that and therefore the long term visa would be the relevant one. Anyways, Iβm sure Iβm now boring most people with this so Iβll leave it here but for the record I hope Iβm wrong and you (and @KentExile) are right as this will free up an ESC place sooner.
