ever since these owners came in… nothing changes till they’re gone. Simple

You're probably right. Although a lot has undeniably changed this summer (whether for better or worse) - will the end result change? Likely not, but persevering with what had gone on before wasn't working either.

Believe from where? given her profile says she is still there according to her profile

There is a picture of him on social media and it has been suggested on there, that he is with our new signing Morshita and Ohashi as he is the new player liaison officer.

I am not saying it is definitely true, hence me saying, I believe, so it could be incorrect.

She has definitely gone, I am 100% on that.

Can't see us pushing for more, lets hope we have others lined up...I know you shouldn't base too much off reels, but like others have said, Soumano looks abit of a donkey...Slight upgrade to Gueye IMO

Spending £5m on that lad would undo all of the thrifty work we've done in the summer.

I have a feeling that they'd sign Soumano and Gueye would end up still being a better option. They're not getting enough out of him.

Would still like them to sign another striker though.

Yep.

Think they should split the difference between Gueye and Ohashi and get a quick striker that can run in behind.

Gueye picks up yellow cards for fun, is tactically undiciplined and can't finish. He's be a £10m+ player if he could finish just a little better, but seems to be too hot-headed to ever become composed enough.

Soumane with one good season in Ligue 2... not sure he's the answer but it shows how difficult (and expensive) it is to bring in a goalscoring striker these days.

Aside from the bickering and the grumbling is there any firm transfer news or even speculation?

It's gone very quiet

Hope they move on to the next target his club started asking for offers around 1 and with the sudden interest they keep moving the goalposts … He reminds me of a more mobile version of Gueye but who’s better at the hold up play side of it ….

Tbf they weren't saves you wouldnt expect any keeper to make. He does have a knack for making routine saves look showy. However assomeone who isn't a fan,. he's improved a lot since he first came in. He needed to.

Disagree there quite strongly as two of them i'm convinced Pears doesn't save, great reflex saves that you probably wouldn't expect bank average keepers to make.

Do you have another highlights video, cos the top one on YouTube doesn't show that at all!

There's a lot of chatter about non-playing staff leaving, and my initial reaction was one of sympathy - 20 odd years of service and edged out of the door (not that we know the circumstances).

However, with the constant cryptic digs, her being so glad to be gone, my thinking has changed somewhat. Is there a toxic environment? Potentially. Or was there a clique of sorts before with bad attitudes and an obstruction to change (whether we agree with it or not) that needed addressing? It's clear Lesley was extremely close to Travis and also a few others, all of which have given us good service over the years but also presided over much of the underachievement and been key components of a side that many people have questioned with regards to mentality. This is pure conjecture, but does being overly close personally (remember, this is a job) to certain players undermine the role as player liaison officer with the wider group? And is this relationship impacting the day to day role and work with other players, especially at a time when the close relationships appear to be with players who want to leave the club? Again, I'm being hypothetical, but that's what cryptic posts do - they leave questions for people to draw half baked conclusions, and posts like that make me question who is at fault. My gut instinct was always the club, but what's clear is that we need everyone pulling in the same direction, from the manager to the support staff.

As always, more questions than answers. A few posts have suggested this and I'm coming around to the conclusion that a refresh of sorts isn't a bad thing. The motives may lie in cost cutting, but I've sulked on many away trips about our squad's lack of fortitude and bottle, with the same scenarios playing out time and time again. Yes, Venkys transfer woes have undoubtedly contributed, but when they cross that white line the onus is with the players, and many of the long serving players leaving now have been consistent parts of a squad that hasn't got it done when it matters. Will the new lads be different? I genuinely don't know, but I'm happy to find out.

Would I sign Travis for £3m? No I wouldn't. Would I have renewed his deal if he asked for fair terms? Probably. But I'm not privy to that information. My conclusion is that a change suits both parties and I genuinely wish him well; he seems a top bloke.

I think Rovers has been an easy team to play for for too long. Flatter to deceive, gallant losers. This isn't a vindication of what we've done, but something had to change. This rant doesn't have any sort of logical conclusion or end, and might be awash with contradictions as it's just me thinking aloud, but I think our legacy with Venkys rightly causes suspicion, doubt and negativity. Finally we are doing something 'different' - we may fall flat on our face, but I for one am cautiously excited about what comes next. If that's League One, then I will accept that I've just written paragraphs of absolute bollocks and apologise profusely.

Screengrabbing this & diarising for May 😉

I'd be more confident if you said better at finishing than Gueye!

£5m seems way OTT for this guy - not that there's the slightest chance of us paying anything like that.

Any idea who the next target is?

The downgrade argument is a bit ridiculous at this stage. Need at least 10 games to even entertain making that call

That's fair. But those who like the new cost downgrade (or er, the new singing from the same hymn sheet/all travelling in the same direction) are likely to say after 10, if it's not going well, that more timeis required for bedding in. It has been suggested that it doesn't matter where we end up in this league.

Just as a side issue, has the site been updated?

The skin looks vastly different on my phone today and the ability to like/dislike posts is no longer there?

For me it looks like the like button is not there but it's just very faint so I can still click on it

Good posts.

But on the point above. As I'm sure you know, it was working until promises were broken and the usual shenanigans went on. Close with JDT, close with JE, even Mowbray, all with dsysfuntion all around -not backed when it mattered. Some with plans that are remarkably similar to the new one.

And so we have a volte face of sorts -money even tighter but a plan that all -well the unholy trintiy -agree to. The rest will follow (as in the best dictatorships) knowing full well the consequences of dissent.

I don't really see how even further reduction in expenditure can lead to promotion but who knows?

I do see that there won't be competing voices or power battles when it comes to transfers (SWAG v Pasha/RG etc) but that just means that all will accept less money spent and the mine will be in certain leagues.

Personally I would have quite liked to have built upon the squad that finished 7th last year, rather than dismantling it and starting again.

Granted, that takes money which the owners refuse to provide.
