Got to wonder how they’ll reflect on finishing midtable come the end of the season after that outlay

A success I would have thought. Just out of League one and just survived last year.

Meanwhile, it would seem that many here think that  mid to low table is acceptable for us given we have been in this league for ages. Embarassaing indeed.

Intentionally provocative here but there's a view that Gestede has turfed this culture out.  I've seen both Brittain and a lesser extent Hyam down tools at criticism over poor performances.

Time to move Rev. He's gone, we moved on, some of us have moved from the Eustace time here.

I have expressed my opinions around his move to Derby and what I would have done if I had Rovers CEO. I have nothing more to add to that

You are an absolute parody.

It is an interesting argument that. The "Old Guard" did indeed manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory several times.

Not sure if the "New Guard" will even be able to get in a position to do that however.

Something of a tangent to my point, no?

On your point -well maybe -although more likely an agent/Gestede/Pahsa driven dream that things can remain the same on an even tighter budget and fewer personnel. And if we accept you view re Brittain and Hyam, it didn't stop us coming 7th last season -but then you know the real reason why that happened -and it's not JE's departure, much as the club would like to spin it so.

As I said, intentionally provocative.  As much as Brittain especially did well both he and Hyam handled themselves poorly under JDT in the end.

That said - to be explicitly clear for the dumb dumbs - I don't think selling at the rate we have and buying untested internationals is a viable strategy to the long championship season

Absolute shitload of money has been spent this summer.

Usually the Championship doesn't have two pennies to rub together.

Even Charlton have a net spend of about £10M lol

Tbf they did that literally 2 weeks ago!

Telalovic didn’t score in 20 appearances for us. He was a flop.

He scored a few last season in the German second tier. That tells me it’s probably an easier league  than the Championship. I bet this year in the Bundesliga will be a different story. Awful signing.

Lol. You know what I mean.

If we can get into a position over the course of a season to chuck away a play off place Id be exceptionally surprised.

Not by us.

Assuming Leonard goes it'll be roughly a nil net spend won't it?

So... . it's a) A strategic plan to get rid of all the defeatist culture and deadwood that has brought years of "bottling" and failure

                b) A cost cutting exercise with obvious benefits to their (partner) agents

                c) A purge of players and staff, who challenged the club's lack of ambition and

bullying behaviour by under-qualified senior management

Forgot it was the transfer deadline tomorrow.  Never felt less enthusiasm

At least there's no worry hanging over us about potential last minute departures. With the exceptions of Hyam and Tronstad I can't imagine anyone having any interest in any of our players and there's not much noise about either leaving this window. We've already quite efficiently got rid of the assets.

Eh?

Im not the one calling Derby "Derby Rovers"!

might have well be called that given how players they have with Rovers connections hence my tongue in cheek comment.

I still don't get how good Tronstad is a player but hey ho.

Bullshit Broughton was far worse as a DOF than Teflon Tronstad is as a footballer tbf. Albeit Id imagine the latter will escape completely immune from any criticism should we go down this season.

Someone mentioned the other night about whether Mowbray tried to falsely claim all the credit for Wharton's development on that interview with Big Sam.

He'd be too late for that in any event - Broughton already did it.

He didnt. He just talked about how he used to come up from the academy when we were a senior player short in training.

It's actually a tragedy. If we'd appointed an actual proper DOF to work alongside the excellent JDT instead of a bullshitting over promoted Academy Head, we'd probably have had enough to get us over the line.

Im struggling to see when that chance will ever come around again now tbh.

Again, the blame goes to the wrong place.

Broughton wasnt great but he did add some value. He made some good/very good signings and was proactive with contracts. He wasnt this disaster you made out to deflect blame away.

As with every "era" or "project" it was the owners who stopped us.

No, we're in the black.

We're fighting against the tide.
