These things happen but we seem to suffer more than most with injuries - think our once much vaunted sports science / medical department has been dumbed down, like all areas in the club, beyond recognition.  There's always a price to pay.

Love the ambition, they're trying their little best! Seems like the selling Clubs are just being greedy.

Yes but if we know the selling Club are after double what we're offering for players, then we've little or no chance of succeeding we're just tyre kicking.

Yeah but look on the bright side. This guy has reported it on twitter, so it will soon be in the Telegraph, half the fanbase believes overnight that we are going around making bids like this and the best part of it is it doesn't cost us a penny.

We are experts in making offers that are definitely not enough. We are so shoe-strung we spend that long messing about on fees that we always miss out on the better "targets" that come with competition, even when they're heavily discounted. De Lange last summer being the prime example of this.

Val wanted 90% of his business done before pre-season. Which contradicts what some fans say on here about patience - that hasn't got us anywhere. It's about getting the targets in as quickly as possible so that they can bed in and increase your chances of a successful campaign.

We have billionaire owners but are constantly scraping the barrel and missing out. As it stands today we have 1 new signing training with the first team, no one has heard of him and are short on the following players from last year:

1. Dolan
2. Weimann
3. Batth
4. Woodrow
5. Dennis
6. Cozier-Dubbery
7. Beck
8. Sanderson

That's a lot of minutes missing.... from a team that wasn't good enough to get the playoffs.

We haven't picked up any astute free transfers, some of these have resale value which would have been key to our model if not spending, in the mould of Viktor Johansson from last year; these are the fine lines that means we haven't and never will make the playoffs under Venky's due to a non-competitive approach in the market:

As it stands this isn't a rebuild, it's simply a lot of time wasting and a seemingly major inability to tie down any valuable senior players to attractive long term contracts. There's not a chance we paid millions for Taveres. Career wise he isn't even a player that would be worth £2m, it's nonsense... but they will advertise it during the next crisis video.

We have all of the signs of a team operating without any influential senior executives... and still, distant owners.

As a result current players are holding off from committing, or know they can get a better offer elsewhere.

I don't think it's the number of gaols in absolute terms that mattered. Eustace had the team playing in a way that would have inevitably (in my view) meant fewer goals but was ultimately getting better results (on the whole)

What I think we missed though was Szmodics's ability to nick a goal out of nothing - and then we quite probably would have got something in those failures against the bottom teams.

nobody could replace 27 goals but what we did was find ways to no be a one man team and having every contribute a bit more than the season before and to me 7 short of that plus 13 points and 12 places better off is a huge success

theres a million and one things to be depressed about supporting rovers but to try and push a negative onto a positive season (in comparison to the one before) is just crazy 

Though I hate to say it the two most-disliked teams in the Div were largely responsible for that reduction in the league as a whole. They conceded a total of 46 goals between them!

In what world Is Josh Coburn worth 5million? That must include some ridiculous clause if they get in the premier league. 

I might be in the minority here but I'd rather gamble on cheaper European players than spunk that amount on one average championship player.

I think there is a formula to be followed in targeting either European or lower league players with great physical attributes and hoping that they can make the step up or thrive at a higher level. It's not dissimilar to what Wenger did at Arsenal for years. 

There are few known quanitities in the Championship who would excite me at 5 million or above.

When we sign a player it's always a 'undisclosed fee', yet for a failed bid it's mentioned as 1.7m 🤣 Even if we had put a bid in it would be for 200k with 1.5m in add ons for promotion etc.

The worst thing is, some people actually fall for it, just seen a twitter post saying we're and I quote "throwing money about this summer".

Blows my mind that after all these years there's still people that lap it up....

In fairness injuries can just be bad luck. I lift a lot of weight, 5 or 6 times a week, heavy weights. I pulled a muscle wiping my arse last year 🤣
