I held back getting my Rovers TV season ticket expecting to buy the Nejmegen coverage at the same time...

Fans are banned and still no sign of the match deal. Of course I could be naughty and post this https://tickets.nec-nijmegen.nl/dashboard but I am far too well behaved to even consider doing so. "Ik kom niet uit Blackburn"

Probably the stiffest test as NEC kick off the same time as we are at West Brom so a solid mid table Eredevise side with no excuse for having extra weeks at the beach when/if we beat them unlike Everton and Elche.

I no doubt will be corrected and am almost certainly hexing us but I cannot recall a 100% pre-season win record before. We came preciously close to a 100% loss record not too long ago.

And facing three teams from top leagues is also almost unheard of pre-season these days. So somebody can do a back flip to show off his naff back tattoo.

NEC have two Japanese centre forwards and their keeper and right winger are rated. Should be a very decent test for VI's boys with the starting XI at the Hawthorns likely to be on display... If Rovers TV ever wake up!

We could do with their winger at Ewood, putting decent crosses in the box for 6ft 5in Gueye, and Ohashi.

So still no comment from Rovers on whether this will be broadcast live, either by themselves, Nijmegen or a separate broadcaster.

Despite pleading with fans not to travel to Holland or try to gain access to the game and offering the possibility of a live broadcast as a sensible alternative, all we got 10 days ago was "we will endeavour" to provide a live stream.

I'll be surprised if they do.

I also find it immensely disappointing that for our final pre season fixture ahead of our anniversary season Rovers are off abroad arranging fixtures that permit home fans but exclude Rovers fans.

Shows how little they think of Rovers fans despite all the posturing on social media.

I mean I'm as anti-Venkys as the next guy, but I don't really give af about a preseason game potentially not being televised.

There are other hills to die on - like the home shirt, the lack of investment in the squad, the low season ticket sales etc etc.

You are correct.

I think the problem was someone dropped a bollock with the scheduling of friendlies and Rovers suddenly realised they had a gap of 2 weeks between Spain and WBA which resulted in a lot of last minute scraping about.

They clearly took ages to sort a match out which sums up the lack of competence around the club. But theres no way that they didnt realise that there was a week gap.

I wouldn’t be too sure.

League one starts this weekend and perhaps they thought, we had already got there.

I actually think they were caught out with league one and two starting this weekend and just presumed they could stick the usual Wigan or something similar away in there.

I was told that Waggott's original plan was for this weekend to be a 'showpiece' 'curtain raiser' game against someone to commemorate the 150th anniversary.

Of course his departure, coupled with the realities involved in organising such a fixture - costs, logistics, forward planning - meant we very quickly reached a point where we were getting too late to organise one. Nor is there much appetite for a game at Ewood unless they are confident the away club will bring thousands to cover the expense e.g. Everton.

I think Nijmegen had been due to play another game this weekend and that was cancelled meaning they became available and were also looking for someone to play.

Of course in a position of increasing desperation Rovers were willing to accept whatever terms the host club imposed including not allowing any Rovers fans to attend. Ridiculous really when you might have got 100-200 at most so soon after the Spain trip.

According to this post on Rovers Instagram, the game will be on streamed (presumably for free) Rovers YouTube channel

To me that reads as though you can watch the video of them training ahead of the Nijmegen game in full on Rovers' Youtube, not that the game itself will necessarily be live.

Yeah it's just the full training video is available on youtube. The one's posted to social media are just a clip of the training video
