So its no surprise that our defence looks more solid when we have a Batth/Fadz/Ayala in there too instead it all goes to his partner. As I said, he is quite good Edited August 5 by KentExile Quote

I don't class finishing 7th in the championship as a good outcome for Blackburn Rovers. 7 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted August 5 Posted August 5 All things considered finishing 7th this season and keeping the play offs alive until the death would be a monumental effort as it was last season to be honest. Yes we should always be aiming for that and season on season they should be building on the previous season, strengthening the weak areas and maintaining or even trying to better the strong areas. However we all know that NEVER happens under this lot, never has, never will they have no desire for it. You should always build from a position of strength it's the only way now for a club like us but this ownership and those running the club always find reason or cause reason for good work to be ruined and start a new journey project chapter (i think we are up to now) It's almost as if borrowings need reducing and people lust for commissions. But whatever i'd rip someones arm out the socket to finish 7th this coming season although i'm pretty sure all arms are safe for now. 5 Quote
RevidgeBlue Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I dont think I can remember us ever being almost on the eve of a season so bereft of attacking options. It's going to be brutal without major reinforcement in those areas I fear. 6 Quote

SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 6 Posted August 6 (edited) 1-0 or 1-1 at best. 24,100 Tough game for Rovers to start the Season,be interesting to see how the new players cope with the physicality of the Championship. Edited August 6 by SIMON GARNERS 194 Quote
neophox Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Will Axel and Millsy go straight in to the starting eleven? Quote
philipl Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Miller certainly starting with the Brittain departure. Henriksson might have arrived too late for Ismael to coach into him the Rovers needs. Besides which we don't really know where in midfield he will slot. I would argue Hedges is more a wide midfielder than winger so he could take that slot rather than be a challenger to Trav, Tronstad, Cantwell and Forshaw. No bad thing that WBA are probably seeing the player list at 2pm on Saturday as much a mystery as it is to us. Quote

M_B Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Miller has to play, if there's one team I'd love to beat off a long throw... 1 Quote

neophox Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Axel started and played last Saturday in Gais 3-0 win so should be match fit already playing 12 games this season. Quote

He's not had as much preseason and gelling as the rest of the squad so probably more minutes on the training pitch then unleash the OZZ!!! 1 Quote
WacoRover Posted August 6 Posted August 6 VI had a good eye for starting 11 at the end of last season. He’s had an opportunity to add some guys that he believes will be good additions to the club. This is a tough opener; and, several new guys who should figure prominently later in the season might not be quite ready. A 2-2 outcome would be quite a coup. I can’t wait for it to start! Quote

Ricky Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Tickets and train both booked today. Vine pre match is a bit of a ritual so I’m sure that’ll be where I head to. 2 Quote

Waggy76 Posted August 7 Posted August 7 If we don't lose , I will be pleasantly surprised . We have signed a few midfielders and no forwards , we are going to have to score goals to have a chance of staying up( . I doubt any of the midfielders will be an improvement on Travis, Tronstadt and the lad who was on loan from Stoke for the 1st half of last season . Going to be a long season !! Quote
