jim mk2 Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Storm-force winds here, game would awful to watch if it went ahead. What's it like in Ewood area? Assuming they play, can't see anything other than another defeat. Ismael v Robins. What reason for optimism is there? Rovers 0 Stoke 2 Quote
Lancaster Rover Posted October 4 Posted October 4 I’ve taken the brave decision to stay at home in Lancaster, with the fire on and watch it on telly. Can’t be arsed getting soaking wet for another calamitous call off. 5 Quote

Were you not expecting 15 goals grom Ohashi this season? Big fan of Ohashi. Need to created more for him. Gueye, plan B but not first choice. Someone I would probably move on in January or next summer if we bring in a suitable replacement. Quote
Elrovers Posted October 4 Posted October 4 (edited) Has to be called off. No chance we can play in this weather. Unless they’ve done something the night before to prevent the pitch getting waterlogged which I doubt. Ah oh well at least we don’t have to watch rovers aye Edited October 4 by Elrovers Quote

You have done your usual routine of going round arguing with people who criticise the club, without committing to saying that you agree with the decision. What more do you want me to say? We know Rovers wanted him, we knew if we sign he needed this operation that's why we took a loan deal with an option to buy to protect us. We KNEW the situation when we signed him. Not much more to say is there. You are more obsess with the blame game and trying to say you were right to be against this. I will judge the signing on his performances in a Rovers shirt Edited October 4 by chaddyrovers Quote

I will judge the signing on his performances in a Rovers shirt But merely knowing something doesnt justify it. We knew Steve Kean was being appointed manager. We knew Owen Coyle was being appointed manager. We knew that Wharton was being bundled out of the door. Doesnt justify any of those. Im asking a simple question, do you think its sensible to sign a player (in a position where we have lost our captain) who we know in advance will be out for months? 2 Quote
rigger Posted October 4 Posted October 4 I know this may sound crazy, but perhaps the thinking was, sign Forshaw to cover the midfield position until Baraji was fit enough to take over. Madness I agree, but with the present incumbents you never know. 1 Quote

A question you can only answer when he plays if it was sensible decision or not. That's my answer. TGH has played well so far and Tavares played well against Hull and the cup game. Backroom Tom Posted October 4 Backroom Posted October 4 Sounds like we are confident it’s on them, when I saw the floodlights on earlier I wondered if there were doing a pitch inspection! Its raining a decent amount but not enough for concern however it is genuinely minging 1 Quote

AvRover Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Oh no! I was thinking last night when I saw the rain was carrying on into today that this just wouldn't be playable. If I were the club last night I would seriously have thought about taking a better safe than sorry approach and calling it off at 8am before the Stoke fans set off. If this game isn't played in full then it's a disaster for BRFC from an optics perspective. I'd much rather take the flack for being too cautious than be known as the club who constantly abandons/postpones games late in the day. 2 Quote

As the Ribble fills up will affect the Darwen. We need an eyeball on the outflow pipe at Ewood The Darwen flows into the Ribble at Walton-le-Dale, downstream of Samlesbury. In any event the water isn't going to back up the river as far as Ewood. The issue is the other way, how much water comes down the valley into Darwen and the river. The Met Office had a yellow warning for rain for today yesterday but that has gone now. I would have thought that the wind is a bigger risk of the game being postponed right now. 1 Quote

TGH has played well so far and Tavares played well against Hull and the cup game. You are avoiding the question. If he only returned in April and played 5 games and did well, would that make it a good signing, according to your logic. The question is whether it makes sense to sign someone with a serious injury. Even if he is good, he misses a big chunk of the season. Tavares is crap. And the cup game doesnt count for you judging Ismael so im not sure what the rules are there. TGH is average.
