Makes absolutely zero sense.

Which makes me doubt it very much.

I'd assume that most likely the bid, if there is one, is nowhere near £2 million, or they've got wind of a rival bid.

Well that sure doesn't make any sense. Nobody is paying 2 million for an inexperienced kid who will cost a few hundred grand in 6 months. It's not like he's going into Arsenal's first team and helping their title charge, they've zero reason to rush other than beating other suitors. Which they'll probably be able to do anyway. And if they can't, they probably won't care all that much, not to the tune of 2 mill.

As for us, we aren't using him at all, so we are just throwing money down the drain. 1 mill is plenty fair at this juncture and if they've bid that it should be accepted (or at least just slightly renegotiate based on structure, sell on etc)

They absolutely are. Their egos and levels of stubbornness are as big as their levels of incompetence.

I don't understand this at all.  We have no interest in playing him regularly but are happy to lose £800,000 on him by not selling for no reason.

This is something people need to come to the realisation of... It's not "we" it's "they"

These people are not business people (the owners), they didn't build their wealth, they're fucking morons, who've employed fucking morons, and honestly hardly ever think about the club, it's just a negative "asset" on their balance sheet.

It's a case of more money than sense and fuck all interest doing what's morally correct with a historic football club, meaning either running it properly or selling up.

I no longer look at these types of decisions as "we" as it's not us that have fucked this club up with shit decision after decision... It's them, it's their fault.

Tinfoil och cynical head on: at present Pasha/Gestede are on course to hit their targets for this "year" (accounting).
A much lesser amount for Tyjon that appears on the next accounting year might be tempting for the idiots considering we are in free fall and the revenue drop will be substantial in league 1

The only flaw in my reasoning is that it requires the idiots to have 2 brain cells but self preservation has proven to be Pashas strong suit. Fuck the club but protect himself - wouldn't be the first time

The only thing that I can think is that the £1M doesn't involve any sell on, and the compensation payment tends to include something along the  lines of 15% of profit on next sale.

If that was the case, they would then be banking on Arsenal selling him at some point in the future for at least £7M, for us to be making the same money on him

There are wiser heads than my good self on this forum but if we truly want to have money to spend on a player in this window then take the million now. Bird in the hand.
We are not playing Tyjon which in itself is daft as he has been on the bench.

We  have a burning platform. A sell on clause when we are mid table third division won’t be much use.
Plus with our legendary last day management of deals if we haven’t concluded anything today then we are probably shagged.

Ah, but you forget, income does not affect Rovers expenditure, our budget has already been set in stone & nothing will increase it

Obviously if Rovers operated like any normal business, there would be a consideration to be made about if we should take the guaranteed money now, or the possibility of more money at some future date.

But then again, if Rovers operated like any normal business, they would have already spent the Wharton money, the Szmodics money, & the Raya money on improving the playing squad & renewing contracts rather than letting our better players & dressing room leaders depart, and we would not be in this position in the first place

Makes even less sense than not playing him when we had no fit strikers. An eager Labrador would have been more effective than Henricksson.

Going through who scored it does seem Dapo has a decent amount of experience playing wide.

Anyone know much about him? Can he beat a full back? Quick, tricky, strong?

Since he went up to the Budesliga 1 his stats have been diabolical. Okay in Bundesliga 2, but not sure how that compares to the Championship. There are some absolutely massive clubs in B2 (Schalke, Hertha, Dusseldorf) so the quality might not be far off?

Selling Alebiouso while staring down the barrel of relegation would be an act so stupid I cant even see our clowns doing it. The summer is only 4 months away, his value isnt going to decline, and we really really need him.

At any club, such a ridiculous scenario would be immediately disregarded but this is Pasha / Gestede’s Blackburn Rovers ! Smart move, holding out until the summer to lose £0.8m for a player contributing nothing to our relegation battle.

@RoversXtra claiming Cadamarteri in final stages on X, with the deal being worth £1m.

Can't help but think we might aswell have kept Leonard if thats the case.

Although looking at Cadamarteri in that Sheffield Wednesday team, it would he extremely harsh to dig him out for a lack of goals in that setup.

What formation are we even planning for now? If we sign Cadamarteri we'll have four strikers, so you'd think 3-5-2 but even Ismael knows De Neve can't play wing-back on left, and in any case, why then pursue Afolayan who's a winger?

If we are going back to 4-2-3-1 permanently why sign Cadamarteri who won't play behind Gudjohnson and Ohashi as 9? Or is Ohashi back-up to Cantwell as 10, with Morishita, Jorgenson and Afolayan competing on wings? It makes no sense even for us.

Leonard re-posted a message where it was said he rejected a new contract, so it seems the club took that as a sign to cash in.

If the club insist on keeping Val and Val insists on his formation then surely we need a LWB tomorrow. A late prem loan where we pay 4% of the salary in exchange for guaranteed game time would suit Pasha and Rudy!
