Well twp things stand out so far in this match.

One our back up players are not quite good enough and that's being kind, our midfield looked weak  which puts pressure when do not have the ball on our defence.

Two we never look like scoring, our midfield is not very creative which makes it harder for our forwards.

The second goal should of been stopped by our full back

Cannot see us getting back into this game, such put it down to experience

Yeah let's blame Pears for everything - I heard he was responsible for the Great Fire of London and the release of the Covid virus as well.

For the avoidance of doubt Im  not his biggest fan but he hasnt done anything wrong today.

Like exiled said. Toth would have thrown himself at augyemang's feet. Pears does what pears does, just stands there

Hedges should never have given the ball away in the first place.

Nonsense.

Neither goal was down to the keeper.

We knew a couple of serious injuries would wreck us. Also the last three teams we faced were frankly awful on the day. Saints in the death throes of Will Still's reign, Leicester who'd won 1 in 10 and Bristol City struggling with injuries and having been smashed 5-1 a few days earlier. Perhaps not surprising that, regardless of injuries, we look very poor as soon as we come up against a confident side on a roll.

Piss poor defending and offer nothing upfront. Pears looks uninspired and a bollock. Can't see us turn this around against a quite poor Derby side...

They're nothing special on paper, but not fair to call a side quite poor who are about to record their 5th straight win.

Been poor this first half, struggled with any sort of cohesion. The backup players we have just aren't at the standard required. Huge gulf in class between the usual first 11 and the bench

Any side would miss their GK, CB stalwart and midfield linchpin. We'd struggle with that if we had a decent side. This squad has no chance

Derby signing Morris and Aqyermang both quality strikers for this season and we got unproven strikers. Big difference.

We aren't getting any supply whatsoever to our strikers. That's the big difference.

Derby have managed to score two without conceding any chances to us at all... Their two big lads  up front can work off very little so they dont put anyone forward, while i dont think weve fashioned anything decent despite pushing more and more into the attack.

If we get a point in here it will be a truly amazing result.

I also don't think it's fair to call them poor. They got an early goal, and in typical Eustace fashion sat back knowing we wouldn't lay a glove on us and that they could hit us on the counter.

I'd argue that they're playing exactly how asked and there is a reason they've won (soon to be) 5 in a row and will finish way, way ahead of us this season.

Carlton Morris.... should have put money on it

I'm watching from next doors, my neighbour is having football bets, told him to put Derby to win and Morris to score 7/2.

Embarrassed but proven right (hopefully not).

We're seeing how good the often maligned Scott Wharton is imo now he's out.

Yeah agree, the back line looks unorganised and unsure who’s doing what.

ref is a joke, but we really don’t look like doing much atm.

Second goal is terrible, no pressure on the crosser and Alebiousu looks like he trying to flick the ball instead of just getting his head on it

It looks a game too far for our paper thin and weak squad.

The likes of Alebiousou just look out of energy and they are stronger all across the park.

I do regret being so close to the Derby fans who are in fine form whereas our fans are expectedly flat.

The only thing left to look forward to this half is any potential surprise protest!

He wasn't primarily to blame for the second, Alebiousu was, but quite frankly that's the sort of header Toth is at least getting close to lately. It wasn't aimed that far from Pears. That's before we get into how much weaker Pears is on crosses than Toth.

But he's the backup keeper so I don't expect Toth levels of performance.

Pears isn't commanding

I have a suspicion the Toth come for the second one and maybe the 1st he'd be nearer the cross too.  Just an opinion that can not be substantiated.

We look lost out there gonna end up 4 or 5.

To be honest the attacking players are identical, all the changes are in defence/defensive midfield

We miss Tronstads passing certainly. The main factor though is Eustace is a very smart manager , and has setup his defence and tactics really well to nullify our routess to creating changes.

Well we keep looping crosses in we did one low and hard corner and it caused problems.  We are footballing thick we are thick footballers.
