exactly its a shoulder charge. Wrexham's player says it wasn't a foul but yet again match officials bottled it again. Same as Whiteman's red card challenge which somehow wasn't given as a red

I enjoyed reading his match summary and his thoughts on the game. His match summary and that of @arbitro are both correct.

No-one has said that they are pleased with 18th so pleased stop this nonsense, but having such an overhaul of squad was always likely to lead to poorer league position than last season.

I have said I thought Ismael wanted too defensive too soon and not leaving 2 up front was massive mistake for me. I wouldn't have brought De Neve but I would brought on Ribeiro instead and push Hedges up front with Gueye if Ohashi or Gudjohnsen couldn't have stayed on.

Also people expected to get beat and well beaten yet Rovers performed very well and actually got a better than most predicted on here,.

You keep mentioning how the "overhaul" of the squad was likely to lead to a lower finish.

Just to clarify, thats not you hanging on to an idea that we are at the start of some sort of positive project, but because the squad is far worse and contains huge holes in quality and depth?

Did you watch the game or is this based on the opinions of BBC Radio Lancashire commentators?

What's led to the likelihood of a 'poorer league position than last season' is more down to replacing decent players with crap ones, and a decent manager with a crap one.

A good point in isolation and reflecting without the immediate anger of conceding in the 95th minute

For balance you have to give it to Rudy et al on Andri, he's a real poacher and I believe his goals will keep us in the league

However, having players like De Neve & Gueye to bring on is a reflection on the lack of interest and investment by our wretched owners, they are both appalling footballers

Bit gutted for De Neve as he had a couple of back to back games were he showed a bit of pace and alertness seems to have dissolved somewhat

Exactly---how can getting rid of your best assets and replacing them with mostly inferior ones justify the description of "overhaul"?

Overhaul implies a plan.. This is just wish and hope.

We finished 7th Chaddy! Remember?

We all said this during the summer. And yet you kept predicting a top-6 finish, so you clearly didn't think it was "always likely". You foolishly believed that some of these dire signings from relegated European clubs would improve the squad and hence the finishing position.

But instead of holding your hand up and saying "yeah I was wrong", you are now switching your story.

Decent point on the road in complete isolation, but the big missed chances at 1 nil up and a last gasp goal conceded makes it feel like a bad result.

The problem is with home form so poor, Rovers are relying on away wins to keep their head above water. They need to bag a couple of wins from the 3 upcoming home games. Given 2 of the 3 teams they're playing are currently below Rovers in the table, anything less than 6 points would be hugely poor.

Brainless to charge in in the last 60 seconds of the game with the shite officials in this league. It was always going to end with a free kick to them in an advanced position.

I thought the referee was very good yesterday and, following the standards he had set, would not have judged that to be a foul. Once the linesman had unnecessarily flagged the referee had little option but to award it

Personally think most linesman would flag for that - despite it barely being a foul. It's on Hedges for me. Stupidity, overeagerness whatever it is it was costly.

Problem I have with this is just an excuse

VI is blaming the ref because of a free kick that then led to a goal which they scored

its a tenuous link to blame others

90mins and we are 1-0 up

why isn’t he coaching the players to manage the time

Rather than blame others or make excuses he needs to accept responsibility

shocking subs, poor tactics, we should have scored 2 or 3 but we didn’t, that is on us, however we were 1-0 until 94mins and then give an opportunity for a foul in our half, that is unacceptable- it’s poor game management which is entirely the fault of the coach and players

lets not get all upset about a free kick when there are things within our control that we should have been doing, hoofing it to row z for example and kicking into their corner flag instead our players are coached in a way that ends up meaning we have conceded 5 goals after 90mins this season, that is entirely on the coach and the players not the ref

That’s not even considering how the quality of our players is so poor, we have players from the second division in Switzerland playing for us it’s a joke,

dont even get me started on them lot upstairs!!!

Who would you have brought on as subs given the players that were being replaced ?

It's the age old problem of players not managing their actions to the circumstances.

Under Sparky I remember Lucas Neill being sent off for a second bookable offence. It was a soft second booking for a challenge in the centre circle. When Sparky was interviewed afterwards he blamed Neill entirely for giving the referee a decision to make when there was no need to.

Ditto Hedges yesterday.

We had a guy called Stan Milburn coaching our works team. Jackie Milburn’s brother and Bobby Charlton’s uncle. 587 league games and an England “ B “ international right back.  I was playing full back at the time and he helped me a lot with positional play etc. His advice in a situation like that one yesterday were you had to crowd an opponent was  -  “ Get close enough so your opponent hasn’t enough space to turn with the ball but not that close that he can roll you “ . Or as in yesterday example  “ buy a free kick.” Certainly don’t crash into the back of him.

When you such an overhaul like we did, you expected a drop off at the start as new players settle in, understand the tactics and settle in a new area to live, etc.

not sure what you are going on about "some sort of positive project"?

like I said in previous points, some signings haven't been good enough but some have been.

good enough been McLoughlin, Miller, Gudjohnsen, Alebiosu, TGH, Morishita

not good so far been Tavares, De Neve, Henriksson

too soon to judge Baradji

Because you keep parroting about it being a overhaul.

So I am trying to gauge whether you think a lower finish is down to us simply having a poorer squad. Or if its mainly just down to the level of change and once theyve settled we will kick on and return to challenging towards the play offs.

a bit of both.

If we could sort out the home form then I think a challenge for playoffs is possibility.

some signings won't work out as we have already previously discussed

How many of those signings would have got into last seasons fully fit team ? Gudjohnsen, maybe. Alebiosu - easily good enough but Brittain was playing well. Morishita, again maybe. After that you’ve said it.
