Baradji never looks bothered or interested. Not the sort of player you want in a relegation scrap.

Sometimes I think I watch a different game to some on this board.

Baradji is a quality footballer who is getting to grips with recovering from injury and playing with some of the dross we signed in the summer. If he is being made permanent then bravo to whoever is making that decision.

A poor game but it was good to see the youngsters come in and do a decent job.  Another impressive performance from Baradji who looks a class act.  With a busy month ahead I thought Val did the right thing in resting players.  The one good thing is the QPR game should now be a 3.00pm kick-off - at least until Sky get their hands on it.

Just watched the “ highlights “ . The breakaway towards the end were Baradji plays in the young winger. The kid seems to be trying to set himself up for a left foot shot when it’s crying out for a right foot shot. These “ inverted wingers “ are doing my head in.

What i gleaned from today more than anything is there are no goals in our young forwards who all struggled with the step up despite working hard.

I fear they like a lot of others are being judged on running stats rather than footballing ability.

Now if only we had a lad around the place like that young Leonard at Peterbrough !

We had him around. He was hardly ever out of the treatment room.

Well he's fit now and he cost us nothing but hey why keep an instinctive developing young forward on peanuts when you can get rid and bring in an AI stats signing.

We are showing over a prolonged period now that we cannot score goals and we cannot win matches.

Feeling confident of survival, anyone?!

I am.

When we had Gudjohnson alongside Ohashi we looked a lot more dangerous .

I'm confident with Gudjohnson and the addition of a striker or 2 we will stay up.We ain't being battered every week the majority of our games have been close we lack a cutting edge

We lack a blunt edge.

mowbray went 1 win in 17 with a superior squad than val and nothing happened, val could take us to the conference north and he would`nt be sacked, venkys don`t do sacking, they just drive managers away,if he does`nt get his strikers come febuary,i think he`ll walk tbh

Not a chance, he's the next Mowbray. He will be content here whatever happens.

Look at some of his horror runs over the years.

Sky have already selected there games for that weekend.

All the Championship ones they selected though will be postponed because one of the teams progressed to the next round.

Yes, we lost, but what yesterday’s game really showed us is that our youngsters stepped up and delivered far better performances in the first team than many expected - fans included and especially those within the club making the decisions. Those youngsters have actually exposed a lot of people within the club and shown that the club have wasted a lot of money and time bringing external players into the squad when we already had an equal (arguably better) player already within the ranks.

I hope the positive in this poor season is that they look there first before 'trusting the data' elsewhere over 'trusting our own' that we've spent years developing.

Im not sure I agree.

Dlamini, Powell and Doherty all featured and I think looked miles away from being first team ready. None of them can or should be counted on as first team players at the moment.

Some of the youngsters have shown that they are capable. Atcheson has only played a couple of games but has looked like he can play a part. Pratt didnt start yesterday but has made himself part of the first team squad. Litherland is currently now injured and isnt a wing back but also showed enough to suggest he wasnt out of his depth. These players shouldnt be assumed as ready to play week in week out but all 3 to varying degrees have shown that they are ready to be in and around it.

Yesterday further highlighted the terrible recruitment and the holes within the squad. Its not realistic though to bring through loads of youngsters every season. The answer is not to just not bother and assume theres somebody coming through, the answer is to recruit properly.

Teams who struggle dont tend to get battered every week. Matches more often than not are decided by fine margins and we even with Gudjohnsen fit more often than not were on the wrong side of those margins.

Wonder if that's what Colchester fans said when a young Sammy Szmodics didnt score in a season and a half for them when he started his professional career?

I agree, they aren't first team ready but I think if they were all given the same opportunities as Tavares, Henriksson and De Neve then I have no doubt they could have had the same impact, if not better. Will they be better players in the long run? Hopefully! but based on what i've seen, I think we've spent a lot of money on the wrong players. I hope they prove us all wrong and improve next season.

I agree, Baradji is class in the making. No doubt other clubs will show interest in time. If we can't hang on to talented players, we remain Championship class, or lower.

We have to buy him first - all well and good him doing great etc but will he sign the contract for a crap relegation threatened team?

What a horrendous game if fiotball.  To be honest I am glad we did not progress too many injuries now and a relegation nattle tondeal with.  Funny init the two 1st teamers miss and the toung lads take sweet confident oenalties.  I knew Baradjinwould miss cos he is too lazy to try something crafty.  Toth was gazumped ny two straight down the middle. Not criticizing just saying, he didnoull off a couple if saves Injust can't imagine Ainsley getting anywhere near  Another pathetic ref.  Anyway not fussed we are out until Hull get a peach if a tie.

I disagree, Baradji is just back from a lengthy injury. He's one of our better players.

If those players are the benchmark then we may aswell plan for League 1 and beyond.

Dont doubt that recruitment has been not fit for purpose but Dlamini/Powell/Doherty are nowhere near ready either.

The only 2 choices arent and shouldnt be playing kids who arent close to being ready or signing players as bad as weve seen to wear the shirt.

Not the point i was making.

'Struggled with the step up'

The point is they are no use to us right now and all need to be on loan getting used to mens football.

Meanwhile Harry Leonard used correctly would have been very useful to have around this season but like Gueye his running/pressing stats wouldn't have impressed Ismael.

Regardless of the fact we need someone with a bit of poaching/movement in the box nous whilst Andre is missing.

We've strengthened our defence, can we now put right, what's wrong with Blackburn Rovers, STRENGTHEN OUR NON EXISTENT ATTACK.

That costs money- our owners won't spend any.
