Backroom DE. Posted 2 hours ago Backroom Posted 2 hours ago I don't see us paying compensation for a manager currently in work. Other than Appleton, which was absolute peanuts, we've never done that. It would make even less sense this season, when costs are being slashed everywhere. Fully expect it will be somebody currently out of work. 1 Quote
John Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Perhaps not surprising but some truly horrendous names being linked. 2 Quote
Andy Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Coleman would be bare-faced trolling of the fanbase and about as blatant as you can get in terms of 'look what we can get away with, here'. And if he comes, you know who will be appointed as his number 2... 3 Quote
neophox Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Aren't Gerrard and Beale available and without clubs? Don't know if they are any good. 1 1 Quote

Then I'd put £20 on. Which would probably have the effect of pushing him in to joint favourite to wind us up. Not completely impossible he could be appointed but just saying......... Quote
Browjd Posted 59 minutes ago Posted 59 minutes ago Let’s get behind Bilic talks - this is the best we are going to get 4 1 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted 55 minutes ago Posted 55 minutes ago Reading fans seem to hate Richardson but there'd be compen payable so that tends to rule our lot out, thank god. Boot Gestede out and get Mowbray as DoF to mentor Johnson. 1 1 Quote
Torgeir Posted 55 minutes ago Posted 55 minutes ago Don’t mind Bilic, but he will choose Watford over us if they’re in the mix. 1 Quote
Rover down South Posted 52 minutes ago Posted 52 minutes ago Coleman doesn’t seem to stay in a job long! Last six appointments since leaving Wales: Sunderland - 5 months Hebei China Fortune - 11 months Atromitis - 22 months AEL Limassol - 6 months OH Leuven - 6 months Asteras Tripolis - 3 months Rudy would probably give him a three year contract! Southside Rover Posted 43 minutes ago Posted 43 minutes ago I don't buy into this romantic ex player stuff or ex manager coming back. Anyone pre Venkys who gets the club isn't going to experience it in the same way and unless living under a rock will know that. It's not an environment built for success so who wants relegation on their CV. Anyone since Venkys knows what it's like to work here so again wouldn't come. Best bet is someone out of work who believes they can pull off an escape to raise their profile for an improved opportunity in the Summer. Anyone punching high in league 1 I think would see it through to completion rather than join here under these circumstances. It's similar with the transfer window. What top no.9 was going to sign for the club that's a total embarrassment and in free fall towards relegation. Those strikers get snapped up by the promotion chasers. Unproven potential or journeymen looking for final pay day would have been the choices and I dare say no upgrade on what we have. Unless of course money talks but we don't spend that either! Quote
Tricky Posted 39 minutes ago Posted 39 minutes ago Need to understand if they're going for someone to just keep us up, or someone aiming to get us promoted from league one at the first time of asking... Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted 37 minutes ago Posted 37 minutes ago it does`nt matter who the manager is,they won`t be allowed to succeed, though i would be fuming if russell martin managed to get the job 1 Quote
roversfan99 Posted 36 minutes ago Posted 36 minutes ago There are big question marks over Bilic. But hes a far better bet that some of the other dross who seem heavily linked. 2 Quote
rovers11 Posted 26 minutes ago Posted 26 minutes ago I wouldnt be against Bilic. A mixed record but a straight talker and is not a yes man. Would shake things up and would tell it straight. That's what the club needs. No way he'd stand for a bunch of nobodies coming in from Sweden or Belgium. Although he'd quit within a year. 2 Quote

Be a fucking sight better year than we had under Ismael I'd wager! 2 Quote
Eddie Posted 14 minutes ago Posted 14 minutes ago Will Still checks a lot of boxes. He speaks French and English, he's unemployed, and they could kind of argue that he fits the overall project of recruiting potential and trying to develop it - even in the managerial position. He did incredibly well in France, but the failure at Southampton is concerning. He might be the best of a bad lot when looking at the list of likely candidates. We can likely eliminate names like Duff and Rooney. Quote
Tomphil2 Posted 8 minutes ago Posted 8 minutes ago Wouldn't be averse to still but i genuinely don't think Rooney should be totally ruled out. It's just the typical thing one of the Indian owners might do if they get wind he's interested. Big name to trumpet about back in India where most of em are Man U fans. Plus he works cheap if he really wants the job and will probably agree to walk for nothing if it doesn't work. He's a live one for sure. Quote

Balaji might briefly fancy it as a glamour appointment but it'd quickly be knocked back by everyone else. The eyes of the World would be on us and could you imagine him or Gerrard managing in League 1? It'd be an absolute circus. Quote
