Tomphil2 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago And there something regarding a land deal as well with wee Barry. Came here for a quick buck nothing more. Quote

That whole move back to UVF Glasgow stank of some agent wanting signing on fees and brown envelopes by making the move to Rovers, then back for a similar fee. I think McKay was the agent's name, the same guy who got that player to board the dodgy plane to Cardiff. Can't stand him.... Quote

His record in the UK stands up to far more scrutiny than many others mentioned. Did very well at Huddersfield. Yes he got sacked when they were bottom of the Prem butgot them up and kept them up. Got sacked for after taking over a mid-table Norwich and getting them in the play offs the following season. Mis-step at Schalke during ht closed doors COVD period, but they ended up going down after he left. He'd be my preferred pick from the list. Yeah, I'd also be alright with Wagner 1 Quote
JHRover Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'll never forget the role Wagner played in our relegation in 2017 when his Huddersfield team rolled over and got beat. I also don't think he has the appetite for it. He's spent most of the last 4 years out of work barring that 18 months with Norwich. He was pretty unpopular at Norwich, I remember when JDT took us there and we wiped the floor with them and their fans were in uproar at him. 1 1 Quote

Lancaster Rover Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago To be fair he absolutely stank the place out whilst here Quote
Crimpshrine Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Pasha obviously thinks having no CEO is acceptable and a great cost saving measure. Why bother with a manager when we have a Head of Football Operations who can pick the team and a coach to take training ? Quote

He does seem to like spells of 'inactivity'. Far better than most on the odds list for me. Edited 1 hour ago by Hasta Quote

Yeah he's definitely a better option than some of the dross appearing on the list. He would actually be a logical appointment for a Championship club to make unlike names like Coleman and Richardson, but if it was down to me I'd avoid. Quote
Blue&WhiteArmy Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Just seen an interaction on Facebook from a couple of fans, one fan suggesting Savage is nowhere near experienced enough having only managed in non league football despite his record being good, the same fan then went on to suggest we should be looking at an assistant manager/coach from Premier League or Championship with no experience at all... There were rumours Souey benefited from both deals financially too. 1 Quote

Let me be clear first, I don't think we should bring Hughes back, that ship sailed long, long ago. But to be fair to him on Savage comparisons, Carlise took him on after letting Simpson bring in about 15 players in the transfer window then bombed him off a couple of days after it shut! Carlisle were adrift at that point and he nearly got them out of it. Not to say that's acceptable but there is some context to the situation. I think the damage had been done already at Carlisle, consecutive relegations and a pretty poor culture all told. This year Carlisle must be very disappointed, they've got a massive wage budget and if Rochdale win their games in hand should realistically run away with it. Given the investment at Carlisle along with their crowds I would think Hughes would be off at end of the season if they're not promoted. Quote
roversfan99 Posted 7 minutes ago Posted 7 minutes ago Nostalgia always overtakes when there isnt a managerial vacancy. Robbie Savage has only had a couple of brief spells outside the football league at clubs with big budgets. If he wasn't Robbie Savage, he wouldnt be considered. Mark Hughes did well here 20 years ago. His last 2 jobs are Carlisle where he isnt pulling up any trees and Bradford. And Tim Sherwood doesnt even warrant further discussion. 1 Quote
