It's very depressing reading the choices interested.

Having Rowett over some of the dross out there is a bit like choosing between stubbing my toe on the radiator or falling off a ladder and breaking both my ankles. I don't particularly want either but one is clearly better than the other!

Gary, if you get to read this I really want you to come in and have a go at saving this wonderful club but for real mate you'd be out of your tiny mind. With the gruesome twosome in charge you don't have a cat in Hells chance of building anything here. Just look at the Venky history and appointments. You'll be doomed from the get go.

The passionate supporter in me says shut the Hell up Timmy and take a shot at saving us but if you must take the job don't fall for the old wobble head trick and get an exit clause written into the contract.

You'll be most welcome from the terraces but truthfully we'll all be shaking our head in pity. It'll be like being forced to watch a car crash in slow motion.

Over to you pal. As for me I'm rooting for you.

Pasha allowed Lambert a break clause in his contract back in the day.

Im not sure whether the potential problem is Rovers only want a deal until the end of the season. You'd have thought a break clause to allow everyone to take stock would be beneficial to both sides if we went down.

If despite that everyone was happy with each other there's nothing stopping them extending or re-negotiating the deal.

I suppose the difference is that a break clause can work in favour of both sides, whereas a minimum fee release - like Eustace had - mainly favours the manager/head coach if it's low enough to be realistically triggered in the event said person does a decent enough job.

I could understand why we wouldn't want to give another minimum fee release clause after what happened with Eustace, but then, it's a mess of our own making thanks to the shambolic way the club has been and continues to be run. I just can't see a manager with any genuine talent coming here unless he knows there's a way to escape. A break clause may work, but it does leave the risk of the date expiring, things suddenly going downhill and then the club refusing to allow the manager to resign.

Waggott took the chance with Eustace, most likely because he knew we needed a decent manager to make sure we didn't end up in serious trouble. He saw the minimum fee release as a risk worth taking to give us the best chance of short-term survival. Not convinced Pasha/Gestede have the same motivation.

Russel Martin apparently favorite for the Leicester job

That's great. Even if we cannot make the right decision, someone else can make the wrong one 🥳

If they continue with wanting a manager who does his best with the players provided to him, there’s no future. If they want to appoint an experienced manager and actually listen to him we might at some point move forwards. If they do that there’s no need for Gestede.

Joint favourite at 4/1 which means nothing at all, when they’re odds on it’s usually more telling.

As an aside the names listed for them are a lot better than our duds list

Graham Alexander would be surest indication we are planning to be a L1 club for foreseeable future, and on top of that a dingle.

Rowett is at least a solid mid table championship manager, but even that feels beyond us with the clowns in charge.

If I was a manager my first requirement would be to sack Gestede and bring in an actual CEO to sideline Suhail, but then I guess I'd also need to be the owner...

Yes Rowett like Lambert or Eustace will present them with his 3 year plan A and plan B.

They won;t like that though because V's don't do plans they do whims and they've already installed the 'planners' they want in Suhail/Owen and Gestede.

So it'll be 'Gary you come in to coach the team and be on the touchline whilst we take care of the rest'

I think they'll do what they did to JDT (and Broughton) and Eustace - promise them that they're aligned, let them coach the team for 6 months then pull the rug.

Bradford City boss Graham Alexander is the surprise favourite to take charge at Blackburn Rovers following the dismissal of Valerien Ismael.

I’m not keen but more importantly, would Alexander be keen ! Why would you swap a vibrant club on the up with a vociferous 20,000 support cheering you on at home for the corpse of Blackburn Rovers and the funereal atmosphere of Ewood Park 🤷‍♂️

Every online piece has to be taken with a pinch of salt, the majority are either agents or a club looking to put a name out there or improve a bargaining position with someone else

Tje fact that this hasn't been sorted yet shows exactly what is important for Venky FC.

They're not interested in remaining in the championship, it is a league beyond their capabilities and ambition.

Eventually they will drag is down to their level. Just how low that actually is remains to be seen.
