  1. You'd have probably said the same about Bolton and many other clubs that have been mismanaged by unscrupulous owners. But with every passing year I fear the pool of suitable buyers is diminishing, we had them lining up 2015'ish, but I doubt the same interest is still there now, from key players with Blackburn Rovers at heart that is.
  2. My only concern about getting rid of these Charlatans, is we get more of the same in a desperate bid to find new owners. But even with that potential pitfall looming, I’d take the chance. Blackburn Rovers are just about existing right now, nothing more, we deserve so much better as fans, as a town and as a football club with such an illustrious history.
  3. How do you see Venkys being put in a position to sell Eddie? They have had numerous opportunities to open talks, speak to potential buyers and refused mostly to engaged, its now been around 14yrs, how long should we wait? Everything about the club is second rate, budgets cut to the bone and that will continue until these lot sod off. If the only way we can get rid of them is through administration, I'd take that now and everything that comes with it because I have a feeling we'll end up there under these owners anyway, only with much more debt. I don't believe that is a delusional position to take, especially when you look at other clubs that have been through similar circumstances over the past 10yrs and come out of the other side. We are Blackburn Rovers, we have an illustrious history, large fanbase and had a fine reputation until recently, this club will not go to the wall.
  4. All things being equal, players coming back from injury and they don't sell Sammi, we have enough to stay in the division, but it only takes another terrible decision from Pune and we are in the mire. Nobody should be surprised at the current predicament, you sell your best players and fail to reinvest and replace with inferior players, eventually the well runs dry and we are fast approaching that position now. JDT is the best manager we've had since these morons arrived, but he can't work miracles with no money, a massive injury list and academy players not ready for the hustle and bustle of Championship football. He will probably walk in the summer and we'll get one of the journeymen doing the rounds and its back to square one, rinse and repeat, so be careful what you wish for. I say it all the time, as do many other posters, but our situation doesn't get any better until the owners sod off, we might have some initial pain in the short term, but we need them gone as this club has very little more to give, its broken and needs fixing. Venkys out.
  5. Yes I think you're on to something with the coaching position Mercer, but as a player I loved the guy, always gave everything, I was gutted when he came back after his broken leg and did the same leg again against Palace. Wretched luck.
  6. He never said that did he? Reading the comments above, I was going to have a listen, having given up on Gally after his King rat support and fence sitting back in the day.
  7. The longer these owners are behind the wheel the bigger the car crash when inevitably we hit the brick wall. Right now we are struggling to pay wages and keep the lights on, with 'billionaire' owners, owners who have zero interest in raising capital through growing the club, its mindboggling incompetence or they simply do not care. I'd take the final option right now den because our options diminish with every passing day sadly.
  8. I understand the point you're making, relegation from Premiership was probably worse if truth be known, but what is the end game here Paul? You talk about money coming in for the 'short term' but what does that achieve? Disaster in the longer term? Something has to give and we need to think bigger picture I'm afraid.
  9. I understand the sentiment here, but the fans are still out there, they'd be back in droves if we got into the Premiership, no doubt about that. My faith in our support has never really dwindled, the away support is phenomenal, the Sheff Utd FA Cup game almost brought a tear to my eye on the support front, simply outstanding, I'm getting goose bump now. Get rid of these shite owners and give the fans something to get behind and the club can return to where it belongs, but until Venkys piss off we are in limbo, I just wish more matchday fans would see it and do something about it.
  10. I’d take that now to be honest, nothing improves until this lot sod off.
  11. I was driving through the Dearne Valley between Barnsley and Doncaster earlier today and saw 3/4 large gangs of people litter picking on the duel carriageways. This area was mining communities in years gone by and has been replaced by carriageways, roundabouts, industrial estates and outlet shops. Litter can only come from people travelling in cars...... Credit to these pickers, young and old in the freezing conditions, thankfully we still have some selfless people in this world.
  12. Correct, my mistake islander200 👍 Mrs finished season 2 last night, outstanding was the verdict.
  13. Henry was all over the Reading stuff at the weekend, supporting the fans against another abhorrent owner. He never shyd away from the Venky stuff either, Nick Harris was another.
  14. Premiership quality on his day, another very good Mowbray signing, but his wages are probably 4/5 times what we pay these days, never going to happen sadly.
  15. Lets not beat around the bush here, you've made the same prediction, selling our best player, every January for the past 10yrs and have a ZERO success rate. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
  16. I was in the big city last night (Sheffield) for drinks at Public and seafood at Native. First of all it was Public, which used to be a public toilet back in the day, now doing table service of amazing cocktails, bring the plastic though as its not cheap, but the quality and range of the drinks was superb: https://www.publicpublic.co.uk/ Then we had a table booked at Native, one of only a handful of Seafood restaurants in the city. Our group loved the place on the whole, Lobster, Crab, Turbot, Scallops, Bream and Gurnard on offer, but its was insanely expensive for me. Turbot £32, king of fish I get that, but it came with a sauce and nothing else. Starters all £13+ - I don't mind spending money on food, but it just seemed a bit over the top for me, but I will go back as what was served was excellent. https://www.nativejhmann.co.uk/
  17. How’s the QEGS delegation getting on Rev? Are we seeing any progress? It’s easy to criticise from the comfort of the armchair, I’ve done it, but knowing one or two on the FF they’ll ask the questions when the time is right, it’s not about wading in on every subject or you lose credibility.
  18. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67899988 Reading fans invaded the pitch today after 20mins in protest against god awful owners, match abandoned. Direct action - I salute every one of you. Venkys out!
  19. Lets all agree it was a foul on the keeper, it makes the 92nd minute equaliser even better.
  20. How long has he been here Eddie? I believe he's played over 200 games for us? But you're right of course, he's struggled with injury over the past 2 seasons. Most fans, if the money was reinvested, would take the deal, but we all know that money probably wouldn't see the light of day, even if someone was willing to pay a decent fee.
  21. I'll translate what Kaminski was saying in the clip above: "Shut up you fat burnley bastard"
  22. Sky have a lot to answer for, football on a Monday night was rare before that lot came along..... Definitely taken some the sheen off the tie for me 🙄 Why the tie has any sheen at all is another question, its against 3rd division Wrexham for goodness sake, but I want to spend 90 minutes berating that **** McClean and now I possibly can't go.....
  23. I can't answer the question with just yes or no rigger. If you take this down to barebones - Striker = goals = No, not good enough, I think he scores 1 goal every 4 games. If you look at his all round contribution to the team, every manager has played him out of the wing, his tracking back - Yes I will never criticize any player that is selected to play for Blackburn Rovers and puts in 110% every game, Gallagher falls into that category for me.
  24. Which has nothing to do with Gallagher himself, he clearly is doing his bit as the stats suggest.
