  1. Past hour
  2. With Waggott being master Teflon - his departure, along with the very fast phase on ticket deadline as JHrover pointed out does hint at a very bleak summer ahead possible outgoings with value £ - brittain, Travis, tronstadt, cantwell, Carter (not the value we once hoped) no real money for Dolan too cheap fee outgoings - pears, Buckley, JRC No idea what to expect inbound but imagine a bunch of unknown quantities who are unproven at this level
  3. Off at a complete tangent as I've only just found this out Peter Shilton was 40 years old in the 1990 world cup. The rest of my day is completely in the clouds.😐
  4. Complaining about Tuchel's squads now is a bit like complaining about who Ismael selects in the pre season friendlies. All that matters is what happens at the World Cup. I still have a lot more confidence of Tuchel bringing success than I ever would have under wet lettuce Southgate.
  5. How much cheaper can we go? The squad is made up of FAs and Academy players.
  6. Was this revelation that Waggott had outside investment for the women's team sourced in the public domain previously or has it just emerged since the statement he was leaving earlier in the week? Don't recall hearing this before.
  7. Today
  8. I didn't say top level but they're both very good
  9. They are good Premier League centre backs, certainly not top level. Stones is done.
  10. Should happen more often if clubs feel it is warranted. John O’Hare tells of when he was banned from Anfield as a scout for Leicester City. It was because of the clear and obvious penalty he got for Forest when piledrived by Phil Thompson in the European Cup (he dived, obviously). He got to the ground and was told at reception ‘Fuck off, we don’t like you here’.
  11. I still say konsa and ghuei are quality centrebacks. Stones could return too
  12. Of course I would always rather see Wharton playing at as high a level as possible, including the men’s side BUT Devil’s Advocate: Might he benefit from playing every game of U21 international tournament football (similar to the old Toulon tournament) rather than two friendlies?
  13. Rovers are on the Big Match Revisited next Saturday at 10.30 am. It's a game against Oldham from August 1975.
  14. Based on his initial squads, there seems very little likelihood that the above will the midfield at the World Cup. Although even if it is, I dont know if it is sufficiently defensive to protect a below par defence. To think at one point, we had 6 or 7 centre backs all a world away from the current dearth in quality there.
  15. Venky's don't have enough interest to get involved and spend time looking for a 'better' COO. They are happy to have someone at Ewood taking the flak for them. If Pasha leaves, it will only be because he decides to. He would probably recommend one of his Kentaro/SEM mates as his replacement and Venky's would just go along with it.
  16. and probably the next 4-6 years too Mainoo may eventually replace Rice, but the others have 10+ years at the very top
  17. Wharton rice and Bellingham would be the perfect midfield at the world cup next year
  18. Mark Brfc beat me to it but - No, just cheaper inferior ones to replace the ones we've already got.
  19. Waggott's season ticket deadlines and dates was a warning sign for me. Get the cash in early before people see what unfolds in the summer. Now that 90%+ of that cash is banked they can crack on with stripping the squad of saleable assets with minimal impact on ticket income.
  20. Mods, please would you put this in the football section to get more attention. Thanks in advance.
  21. Paul Weller - Have You Made Up Your Mind?
  22. It has always been the same. The better clubs will get the better players.
  23. Unfortunately I feel that even if the current administration was removed by way of Pasha and his chum Rudy getting the boot, and I think that is highly optimistic as unlike Waggott and others Pasha is and always has been a Venky man, and even if after that the owners decided to bring in a competent and trustworthy group of people to run the club, their track record suggests that at best this would be merely a temporary reprieve before they changed their minds, funding, budgets, whatever and the whole thing comes crashing down again due to their decisions and policies. It isn't ever going to work on a medium or long term basis. They just won't allow it.
  24. Terrible decision by Tuchel, Wharton should not be playing under 21's football at any level. First big mistake by the new manager, Wharton is exactly the type of midfield player England are crying out for right now.
  25. I was looking at BYD earlier this week bluebruce, they don't have a NCAP safety rating just yet from what I could see, as i assume they're that new. But the charging speed is impressive. On occasions we charge our car to 100% = 310 miles, but from empty that could take 45mins at most chargers. Fastest we've ever hit 100% mark is 20mins from empty, at a charge station in North Wales. I was talking to a mate in the week who is still concerned we don't have enough chargers and I was telling her that in 3yrs of driving electric I've never once struggled to charge or run out of charge, even when on holiday in the electric charging barren wasteland that is The Lake District.
