Of course that's the case, unfortunately. Modern sport dances to Sky's tune. For Sky to describe the PL as the 'best league in the world', though, is a marketing strapline, one used to encourage take up of their service. That was the point I was making.

End point is a full stop. No more Rovers. Why the morons in Pune continue to scratch the irritating arse itch that we appear to have become is anyone's guess. Sadly, guesswork, speculation, hope, blind optimism and faith in fellow human beings' good intentions have so far proven capable of nothing but disaster for our club. I have already predicted the script for this close season (no meaningful comms, players leaving, no players incoming up to a few days before the end of the transfer window) and I stand by my prediction, hoping beyond rationality that I am proven wrong. VENKYS OUT! TAKE YOUR TRASH BACK TO YOUR CHICKEN SHIT HOLE TOO... As Clint says, "Who's the feller who owns this shit hole.." -
JDT wanted another striker all summer. On deadline day they probably said "It's Telalovic or nothing". He could have said no, but when you are in the last 12 hours of the window there will be an element in desperation as to whether they are 'wanted' or not.

On that basis then get rid of every player we have. -
So youve enjoyed a Premier League season whereby the title and the bottom 3 places were sorted well before the end of the season? The promoted teams cant afford to buy enough Premier League standard players to bridge the gap such is the inequality caused by the money at the top.
-
I am obviously not against giving the youngsters game if they are ready. I am against setting arbitary targets for minutes played as that encourages playing them whether they are ready or not. As has been the case with some of the players (in those years that we did hit these stupid targets) that did play that werent ready to do so. Garrett, Vale, Leonard etc. It cuts the cost because it means we sign less players expecting kids to make up the numbers. If Suhail, Waggott, Gestede or Sufi said the sky was green you would believe them.

Reading Women went from the second tier to fifth this time last year I think. Presuming a similar trajectory for us, this means (according to Wikipedia) the North West Women's Regional Football League (Premier), in the illustrious company of Darwen, FC United, and Wythenshawe. Give it a few more years and the Men's team will be playing the same, no doubt. Edit - not even Wythenshawe, who appear to have been promoted. Let's say Curzon Ashton instead... -

I don't think the suggestion is a flat Β£100K, it states that based on the model they used would benefit 400 clubs by more than Β£100K each. It would though be interesting to see based on the suggested model, who would receive what exactly -
I think that's harsh about the DoF. I don't think he's fit for the role, but you can't say he knows so little about football you could put it on the back of a postage stamp. He was a professional footballer and played in the Premiership. He will know a lot more about football than a lot of us on here do. He just has no credentials to be a DoF at a club of this level, nor has shown any competence other than in sucking up to his superiors and towing the company line for his own advancement.

It's funny how your mind - and the situation at the time - plays tricks. I remember the run-in after the QPR game being a total disaster. In reality the only result prior to the Liverpool game that looks really bad was the home defeat to Citeh. The others (away draw at Leeds and away defeats to WH and Liverpool) are not that surprising over a 42 game season and, at any other time of the season, probably wouldn't have caused too much worry. -
Imagine wanting to hear more embarrassing claptrap and outright lies from Steve bloody Waggott.

It's a nice idea but they should at least double it. 100k sort of figures won't make much material difference to most clubs receiving funds (and none to us, as you say...even though being 250k down on season ticket sales is apparently a massive deal to us, 18 million quid sales don't affect budgets). We are one of the better producing second tier sort of teams around, and we will only benefit from Raya and in future Wharton. 100k isn't much at this level, if we're even eligible for that much. Most teams contributing multiple of CL players will be from Europe's top tiers. 100k to a Prem club doesn't even register for them. -

Possibly be like the Doncaster Belles, used to be in the top leagues, now knock around the fourth tier as an amateur team. -

You could write what those two know about football on the back of a postage stamp. Neither of them are fit for purpose and genuine Rovers fans, who know the game, would be delighted to hear that both of them had been sacked. -
Get it done, it won't make a difference to the club either way, but it will make a big difference to you.

Venkyβs & Waggott Out Protest Ideas

You are missing the wider point here. There is an upwards trend in women's football and typically we are going against this by, if the reports are correct disbanding ours. Why not try and look for sponsors and try and increase commercial income (does that sound familiar) rather than just throw the towel in. We paid Β£1.2m on agents fees and pay ridiculous amounts to under achieving executives. A proportion of that would fund the women's team. When posters say they would welcome administration you come back to them about people losing their jobs should it happen. This is no different as people will lose their jobs through this. it simply doesn't have to be this way if the owners would fund it. -

Does this news means that the womens team would be completely scrapped, or just not funded to play in the WSL? Meaning they could carry on but a level or so lower? -
