yellowsubmarine Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Somehow, I prefer their previous logo (with Reds).
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Seen the pics on the site and it doesn't look too bad. If thats the logo they will be using on the kit then i'm happy with it. I was never a fan of the huge, bold Bet 24 logo.
LeChuck Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 The pictures on the website aren't great, but from what I can see that looks SO much better than what we have now.
Ronin Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 I do like the look of the sponsor on the shirt they've paraded about. If it looks like that on the new kits, nice one. Slightly better than the current thing we have Doesn't say how much the new deal is over the three years though.
ah Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Are they not closing the Darwen plant and moving the operation to Holland ? !!!!!!!!
JAL Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Are they not closing the Darwen plant and moving the operation to Holland ? !!!!!!!! No, but the industial paints side is earmarked to move abroad (109 jobs in total) though the local usless New labour MP is putting a protest forward trying to prevent this from happening.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Logo looks better on the shirt......hope it pays well for Rovers.
modes98 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Better than bet24 logo but i wasn't expecting that one.
philipl Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Irony of ironies. Rovers hired a top American sponsorship searcher and he found a company in Darwen.
Claytons Left Boot Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 My mate works for the Crown Group, so I´ll be looking for a few meals on the house. Good old Darren - bet you miss it PhilipL
Tim Southampton Rover Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 It's great that it's also a company based locally. Hopefully it wont be stuck on cheaply on the shirt!
Ste B Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 They could paint it on Glad its a 3 year deal, as its likely to mean we can get kit out early for a couple of seasons.
Darth Paul Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Is the logo on the shirt black? Hope it will be changing to red for next season or it won't look right....
roversmum Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Good stuff. And whilst they are at it they can pass over a few pots of paint as I've noticed a few areas need a bit of touching up around the Park.
1864roverite Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 £4-5 million over 3 years allegedly is the moneytary worth fo the deal which can only be good news for Rovers. Kit will look so much better with a black writing logo athough on a red and black shirt it will obviously have to be a different colour.
Dunnfc Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Considiering Spurs get 30 mill+ from Mansion and they are a similar team to our selves should we be happy with 5mill over 3 years?
Paul Mellelieu Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Irony of ironies. Rovers hired a top American sponsorship searcher and he found a company in Darwen. I guess there will be a whitewash at the next Board meeting.
stuwilky Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 I guess there will be a whitewash at the next Board meeting. I reckon it will be brushed under the carpet.

According to what Lee from the official site has stated many a time, Rovers have to literally go cap in hand when sponsorship time comes around!

Assuming our away kit stays as Black and Red halves, then a white logo would look pretty good on the shirt.
USRoverME Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 We are not a similar club as spurs from a Marketing standpoint. We might be from a standings and resutls standpoint, but in terms of attendance, viewership, and other standards of measure like that which advertisers care about, we a a league below the likes of Spurs, Newcastle, and many other teams which we beat on a regular basis in the table.
RevidgeBlue Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 If the figure of 5m over three years is correct, I think that's a very impressive sum and would mean we get over 2.5m p.a. just from the shirt deal and the SWI deal. Not bad at all, allbeit the "club shop" is a disgrace. One minor point, it might just be the photo on the website but I don't think the Crown logo shows up at all well in the black lettering. It looks almost invisible.
