Hughesy Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 On your point about the Pune trip Glenn no-one has yet heard a word of sense in any statement or interview the Rao Brothers or Mrs Desai has made in the name of this club Yet their vision all made perfect sense out there? In what way did what they had to say differ from the utter tosh they've come out with before and since? Perhaps because it was direct and not through different journalists who are trying to create story's?!
onlyonejackwalker Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I hummed and hawed like many others about going to the game tonight. Do I want to put any extra money into the club at this time? No. Do I feel my support is valued or deserved? No. Are we playing at home and do I love the Rovers? Yes. Will a fan boycott be acknowledged, recognised or listened to? No. What can you do? I am going and will support as normal, but without the feeling of belonging or involvement I normally experience. For me we desperately need to win this fixture, not for progressing in the cup reasons, but just to settle us down and give us a chance to re-evaluate where we are up to. A clean sheet would give the defence a huge lift and some goals going in for our forwards some confidence for matches ahead. The last thing we need is another damaging home defeat with such a big game to come at Norwich.
Al Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 It's with a heavy heart that I am not going tonight. I just can't be arsed to get off my butt and go to support the team that no longer feels like mine. Moreover I can't bring myself to contribute to that clown's taxi fare. The way I feel I will no longer spend any money on Rovers whilst Kean is Manager.
Plastic Head Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Not going. First home game I have missed for 20+ years that didn't clash with a Cheltenham meeting. One reason is I am peed off with the attitude of many in the Riverside these days. Not the fans I remember from the eighties for sure. Considered going in the Bburn End but the £20 was the final straw. However I will be at the ground. Will try to meet a few people before and after and ask them some questions. I will be there with my autograph book outside the players entrance after the game...
Ben-2000 Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 As of close of business last night Newcastle (3,100) had sold more tickets than us (2,600) for tonight! Very worrying if true. Although that number will probably be bumped up with freebies and Pay on the day'ers.
davulsukur Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 As of close of business last night Newcastle (3,100) had sold more tickets than us (2,600) for tonight! That doesn't surprise me at all.
Mr Maureen Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Very worrying if true. Although that number will probably be bumped up with freebies and Pay on the day'ers. It would be very worrying for Kean if the 5,ooo or so Rovers fans migrated from the usual warm seats to the Jack Walker lower for tonights game. Scare him to death, his only escape through the empty riverside over the hill and on to Glasgow. A proper protest.
joey_big_nose Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I think we have a decent chance in this one. I would go for:- Robinson Henley Samba Givet Olsson Vukcevic Nzonzi Lowe Rochina Goodwillie Yakubu
The Rover of Finland Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I think we have a decent chance in this one. I would go for:- Robinson Henley Samba Givet Olsson Vukcevic Nzonzi Lowe Rochina Goodwillie Yakubu Nzonzi is on suspension. So after the loss tonight Kean will say we played well but were unlucky on sunday when Nzonzi was booked. We have to stay positive. Also the minority of fans stayed home tonight but 5000 real fans were here to support the team.
riggers77 Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Have tried to keep calm all throughout this debacle but the blind loyalty being shown by some fans is infuriating including my brother who i had a real go at yesterday. If you want kean out then do not go. empty ground = sacked manager. I could have understood it if had be chelsea in the league but this is newcastle in a cup that we could well do without being in. The perfect opportunity to boycott but the courage isnt being mustered.
the original david brent Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 As things stand it seems im not going tonight. I always go to League Cup home games. The reason why im not going? For the first time in my life i cannot find anybody else to go with. None of my friends are interested, nor is my girlfriend, nor any family members. In fact nor is anybody i vaguely speak to who I could tag along with. What a sorry state of affairs. Thank you Venky's, Kean, Anderson, you absolute set of clowns, for creating this mess!

The perfect opportunity to boycott but the courage isnt being mustered. Its far too easy to hide behind a boycott where the tickets are £20 and only 10k would turn up on a good day. If this is seen as way forward, you'd need to boycott a league game, that would sort out the men from the boys
cesus Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 The figures of fans quoted for tonights game is frightening and I completely back people. I can't go tonight due to being on night shift but I have made no effort to swap (in the past I've even done 2 shifts in return for a swap for mediocre games) as I have no interest whatsoever. If we lose, pah expected and if we win bonus but I pray it does nothing for that man that I can't even bring myself to name. I genuinely hope the press pick up on the shocking turn out as we need anything to help bring an end to this horror show that has been happening at Ewood!

If this is seen as way forward, you'd need to boycott a league game, that would sort out the men from the boys i agree a league game would be miles more effective. But if there are those who want kean to go but can't find it in themselves not to go to a cup game then what hope is there for that. Im starting I'm think we are the minority who want kean out and there are several thousand who just don't care either way.

Jerome Anderson knows exactly what he's doing. Blackburn Rovers are the clowns.
Mercer Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Very often, I've been on the ground where quite clearly the attendance has bben understated by several thousand, IMV. Tonight, I think there is a good chance that an attendance of probably approx. 7,000 will be reported as 12,000+. I am not surprised any longer with anything these clowns do. If I get bored, I will do my very best to count the gate !!!!!
Backroom Tom Posted October 26, 2011 Backroom Posted October 26, 2011 Sadly I don't think I'm going, been to the last 2 rounds but this week especially I just feel depressed about the whole thing.
Hi Mack Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Sadly I don't think I'm going, been to the last 2 rounds but this week especially I just feel depressed about the whole thing. Exactly im not going, and IF Kean does get a new contract I wont be going again!

I think people really need to take their rose tinted glasses off and realise the utter disgrace BRFC is now. By going you are funding Coco the clown. By going to are putting money into the pockets of those who could really not give a toss about you.
mcphee7 Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 That doesn't surprise me at all. What suprises me is that we sold that many. Why do people insist on funding this nonsense?? Stay at home with the missus, go to the pub or give your money to charity. For the people who have bought a ticket, get your head out of the clouds.
Ralfinho Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 just been told that newcastle have sold 3100 tickets and we have sold 2600 tickets for tonight
TugaysMarlboro Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I'm not going, that's for certain - £20 for a cup game against Newcastle with him in charge ain't happening. Two minds about tonights game though regarding the following. We could do with getting a "run" together. But lets be fair, I bet in Kean's mind we've had a couple of "positive" results and then lost the following game, so getting a run going is probably out of the picture at the minute. However I'd like to see some of the youth play, some hunger, desire and a chance to see our potential future, a little something to lift the doom.
3rdpillar Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 (To anyone) If you deliberatly don't go tonight and support your team, you are a cock. Have a word with yourself. If you decide not to go tonight, then why ever bother again? Think on!
