Dreams of 1995 Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Tony Mowbray would have loved him 😀 Fair play to the lad. Probably the biggest day of his life so far and wanted to be dressed to the nines. Lovely attitude 6 Quote

Allegedly we have just turned down a 1 million quid plus extras bid from Arsenal. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/blackburn-reject-1m-arsenal-transfer-approach-igor-tyjon/ (Original source is Nixon, not FLW) 1 Quote

Instead, I expect, unless there is a change in policy, the monthly/weekly revolving doors to non-league, injury and unexplained disappearance will continue. Quote

Apart from two there is no mention of whether the games are home or away or kick off times. I know they are BCD and supporters won't be able to attend but it just seems vague. 1 Quote

KentExile Posted Monday at 05:15 Posted Monday at 05:15 U21s match report Batty & Garrett both started, and Mafoumbi is fit and still here, he came off the bench 3 Quote
MarkBRFC Posted Monday at 07:17 Posted Monday at 07:17 (edited) Interesting that Leonard wasn't involved with him not being at Accy either. Another injury no doubt. Also looked like Powell played left wing, which after seeing him play might be a good position for him. Seemingly Garrett isn't in the first team picture at all seeing as we took a trialist to play half an hour in midfield at Accy instead of him. Edited Monday at 07:19 by MarkBRFC 1 Quote
KentExile Posted Monday at 07:29 Posted Monday at 07:29 (edited) U18s match report Interesting to note that Paul Butler is now namechecked as U18s head coach, Whatt has happened to Ryan Kidd & Darragh Tuffy? Edited Monday at 07:29 by KentExile Quote

I heard that Darragh has moved up to the Under-21's and Ryan is still working with Paul at Under-21 level. 3 Quote
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Can those who watch more of the under 21 team shed some light on Igor Tyjon? Keep seeing his name mentioned as the next top prospect. He doesn't seem prolific. Is he actually that good? What is his best position? I've read that we are offering a route to the first team, in the hope he signs a pro deal. I feel we definitely need another first team striker, do we go with this lad? Without knowing much about him, it seems like another situation where a youth player is holding the club to ransom a bit by not signing a pro deal (within his rights obviously). If we hild off signing another striker to give him that pathway, surely you would want the pro deal signing before the end of this window? Quote

A near and tidy player who obviously knows his way around the pitch. He not particularly big and not particularly quick. He kept possession ok and passed the ball around with short passes. I wouldn’t say the game passed him by but I can’t recall him doing anything that really caught the eye. Buckley also came with a massive reputation at a similar age. It’s a real achievement to be playing against men at such a young age but I didn’t see what Arsenal scouts are allegedly seeing. I suppose they can afford hoover up as many likely young players as they like on the off chance that 1 in 10 might make it. 2 Quote

In terms of best position, his lack of physical presence or real speed, but being a clever player (his awareness & movement is very impressive for his age), probably mean that being a 10 (more in the mold of a Dack rather than a Cantwell) is where he will end up. Which is where he featured mainly last season, and also in the friendly last weekend Can see him being Cantwells deputy this season, as it will enable that 1st team route, and also means that they have an excuse for not signing someone In terms of his goalscoring, he had a start-stop season last time out due to a combination of injury and him "tagging along" with the first team instead of playing for the U21s, but still managed a ratio of 1 goal in 3 (1 in 1.5 if you look at minutes played) (reminder, he was 16 until March at this is at U21 level) Edited 13 hours ago by KentExile 3 Quote
arbitro Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago My granddaughter pointed out to me that Harvey Higgins was on the photo shoot for the new kit. This young lad is a few weeks into his first year scholarship and the recognition of being in the kit launch is hopefully how highly he is rated. Get him tied down as soon as possible if that's the case, no waiting or hesitating. Of course it might just be that he was included because he is a Blackburn lad and from a family of Rovers fans but in my opinion it's the former. 4 Quote
