roversoutsider Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 The Olsson to Derby thing seems to have gone quiet the last couple days? Derby fans were confident it was done and dusted for a fee of 750k( off their forum) . I'd imagine the board have temporarily "stalled" any incomings pending Clement's position seeing as he could very well be sacked. Surely the Olsson deal wouldn't go through if they're thinking of doing that. Interesting that Robbo has gone to Burnley. Good move for both parties it has to be said. Burnley have a lot of exprienced players in that squad now. Leaders that we desperately lack. These are the sort of characters you need in the dressing room while going through a tough run. We lack any fighters or natural leaders in our squad. But it's interesting that the same Burnley fans that used to mock him for being fat and what else now think he is an excellent signing. They even had a song for Robbo didn't they? Always used to get mouthfuls while playing for us against that lot and now they're @#/? their pants that he's signed for them.

chaddyrovers Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Hopefully equals more cash. Norwich? Sheff Wed or Hull?
RoverMinion Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Exclusive: Derby set to land Blackburn defender Olsson http://www.teamtalk.com/news/exclusive-derby-set-to-land-blackburn-defender-olsson?
BlueMonday Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I'm not saying Olsson is average and won't be missed, bu...... .......oh look a fire engine!!
The Rover of Finland Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 The lad is nothing but quick legs. Getting a decent fee is a clever move under the circumstances.
JBiz Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Do we have any decent left backs to step up from the academy? We certainly need to replace Marcus, regardless of the opinion of his ability. If we can invest the money - what would the priority be? A new CM or a backup to Spurr. if we are truly hamstrung by FFP unlike other teams, then creativity and nouse from the scouting and backroom team is going to be hugely important.
chaddyrovers Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Blackburn. Derby. Olsson move still going right way. QPR were sniffing. But Derby should get him.

We've been crying out for a creative midfielder. Spurr or Henley can fill in at LB until the summer.
tomphil Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Blackburn. Derby. Olsson move still going right way. QPR were sniffing. But Derby should get him. Be nice if it drove the price up a bit.
johnradfordsubbuteo Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I shed no tears about robbo. handsomely rewarded.questionable fitness which may not have been his fault. dipping performance levels. he doesn't improve burnley a jot given Heaton s quality.if he has to play it's bad news for them.
Husky Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 As far as I am aware Robbo can't play because teams can't get insurance for him/ridiculous premiums because of the blood clot he had. So only a team with LOADSAMONEY could potentially take him on? Is it a game of who can mention as many players as possible in the hope that one happens to sign and you get a modicum of reflected glory ? Roque Santa Cruz! I'm sure he's missing the Blackburn weather.
Amo Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Roque Santa Cruz! I'm sure he's missing the Blackburn weather. What ever happened to his little brother?
Husky Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 What ever happened to his little brother? I just checked it out............. January 2016 - Free transfer to CD Capiata (A Paraguayan first division club with a rich history).!!!
martonrover Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 The lad is nothing but quick legs. Getting a decent fee is a clever move under the circumstances. Yes,as in quicker ones than Spurr. The key question is, will we replace him with better?
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Interested to see Olsson being described as a " Defender " . That's not how I see him.
rigger Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 If we play three at the back, it solves both full-back problems in one, also it doesn't cost a penny. Will it improve the team? It couldn't be much worse!

It couldn't be much worse! I'd like to see it given a go. I think it could be the formation that suits the personnel we have best. Who knows? Could work!
Amo Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Bennett played right wing-back for Bristol this season. Who would play left WB? I'd rather see us play a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Backroom Tom Posted January 26, 2016 Backroom Posted January 26, 2016 Olsson gone to Derby, Telegraph reckons we are guaranteed £750k maybe up to £1m Fantastic money if true
AJW Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Bennett played right wing-back for Bristol this season. Who would play left WB? I'd rather see us play a 4-2-3-1 formation. Markus Olsson would be ideal
rigger Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Bennett played right wing-back for Bristol this season. Who would play left WB? I'd rather see us play a 4-2-3-1 formation. Olsson if he stays, Conway if Olsson leaves Olsson if he stays, Conway if Olsson leaves Conway
arbitro Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Officially confirmed. http://mobile.rovers.co.uk/news/article/markus-olsson-derby-county-blackburn-rovers-2922276.aspx
