My son got one as well - he's 5!

Whilst it looked odd I presumed it was meant to imply 12th man

Pretty ridiculous really. Every kid only enough to count to 12 would get that card and ask why have they got my age wrong.

It's trivial really but sadly a great illustration of the lack of communication and understanding between the club and the fans.

The current climate isn't exactly perfect for this! I agree mostly, and I'm sure many who've left the club for the same reason would agree but some people will have not many other opportunities.

Working for BRFC would be a dream come true for me, even now. So taking that into account and the difficulty finding work, it's not quite as simple as an "excuse".

People may have a lesser view of others for working for "them" but opinions can be different. I wouldn't criticise anyone for making a decision based on their own choice!

Unemployment is at its lowest rate since 2005 Jbizzle, so I'm not buying this current climate bunkum.

I don't have a 'lesser view' as you put it of anyone working for the club, its non of my business tbh, but if you're working in an environment shrouded in uncertainly get another job, simple as that.

Open your eyes Gav, unemployment rates are low due to the massaging of figures aka zero hour contracts, there are 100s if not 1000s of people applying for minimum wage positions. Anyway this should be elsewhere.

Point was down to how others have been critical of taking the "venky dollars" rather than leaving in principal. If I could get a job at BRFC I'd see it as a privilege, regardless of what I thought of the owners.

I saw a bus in Blackburn this morning with a large advert n the rear on the lines of:

"Join the Premier Club - buy a PNE Season Ticket"

I thought there were league rules in place these days that prevented clubs advertising themselves in other league club's catchment areas. I seem to recall that Rovers aren't supposed to distribute promotional material in Accrington because its on another team's patch.

Presumably Preston get round it by sticking it on a bus that travels to/from Preston.

More excuses Jbizzle, plenty of jobs out there, you just have to look

As for the Venky dollar, those comments are aimed at shysters like the shelf seller and his 70's porn star lookalike mate, not Joe public that works in the ticket office and sends out season ticket packs.

I've always wanted to go into coaching my excuse for not doing is being trained as a music teacher haha. Unless they are hiring one of those, I couldn't apply!

The second point you make is not entirely true Gav. Not all posters are as thoughtful and understanding as yourself! I would find the quotes but that would only antagonise!

We'll call it a draw :tu:

Did you see any signs of a new TV camera gantry being built in the Riverside?

I didn't see any signs but then I wasn't looking for that. If work had been done you would think I would have noticed though. I was in the Jack Walker Upper and it should have been obvious from there was there anything happening..

I don't expect the new gantry will be done. Probably just another one of those pointless window dressing initiatives dreamt up by some moron in India who has no idea about assembling a successful football club but wants their 'investment' to look better on TV.

Presumably the 'order' came through that they wanted the cameras moving to the other side but since then nobody has taken on responsibility for actually doing it, or indeed whether it is even feasible in such a stand.

From accounts I've heard other than the pitch being relayed Ewood has barely been touched since the end of last season. Basic jobs like repainting, new advertising boards, cleaning seats, power washing etc. are yet to be done, never mind the relocation of the TV gantry. The club seems to have lost sight of even the most basic of responsibilities.

Any more news on the supposed relocation of the jumbo screen to the JW/BBurn corner? Or the installation of the electronic advertising boards around the pitch which were supposed to be done this summer?

The plans for the gantry was Alan Myers idea originally, however it got knocked back a while ago. I was therefore surprised when I learned that the idea had been resurrected.

There has never been a plan to move the big screen. However should we get promoted (don't laugh) they may decide to install a second one in the opposite corner... to be fair some of the idea's they have are really good, just a shame we won't be getting promoted anytime soon!

And the digital advertising boards? I heard a while back that they were installing digital boards on 3 sides of the pitch and in the middle of the Blackburn and Darwen Ends.

Who has these ideas ? Do we pay someone to sit there and come up with them still or was it just Myers trying to find something to do ?

Well my renewal packs have arrived finally, they now remain unopened on my desk. The excitement they used to bring compared to now is unreal. I'm now genuinely undecided whether to renew mainly so I can vent my fury on Ewood or use the money for away travel to get my football fix.

As depressing as it would feel, it would be very interesting to have only 5000 ST holders and supply outstripping demand for away tickets.

I think this is the only coherent idea that has been bandied about to date.

Sends a message, but will show the supporters haven't just walked away.
