I agree with you. He was competent but had many faults, just like most Championship players.

I watch very little Spanish football, but it is slower and less physical than the English game. Both these aspects will suit Dolan as I felt that oftentimes he was not physically up to it. It is very early on though, he might be on the outs come Christmas. Or he could be the next Vinny Samways.

I'd have thought that if Dolan was "good" another English team would have taken him. I don't think Espanyol would have been a club that was on his radar in June. We will never know though.

Anyway, he's gone, probably never to return. I'll await the time when de Neve reaches Dolan's level instead.

There are alot of Dolans in the championship we just happened to have our own and I for one was pretty gutted to see him go. When a player gets the ball you want to feel excited like something could happen, only player I get that with now is Alebiosu

Looks like he's been dropped to the bench last 3 games.

A football stat site has him 12 out of 17 Espanyol players for performance rating.

Not sure he's ripping it up over there as much as people initially thought.

One of those 3 games was a cup game against a pie and pea team. He's doing well over there imho.

Let's see where he's at at seasons end. Not that I'm particularly bothered either way.

I dont think anyone on here felt that he was likely to flourish playing at a much higher level. Obviously made the correct move as you should always strive to better yourself and has already played against some great teams and played lots of game time.

But he was still undoubtedly a loss for us.

I was reading that as, you're already out of favour and on the bench, and not even getting a confidence boosting runout in the cup.

But, who knows, maybe he's carrying a knock.

No doubt, but we're pretty shit.

I'll make a bold prediction. He won't be a regular starter for them come New Year.

Not hating on him. Genuinely wish him the best.

But I can’t argue against my head. And I think he's below that level and will get found out.

Even if he ends up a squad player in La Liga, the boy's done good. He's not a failure if he isn't starting every week.

Agree. sure he's having a great time over in Spain too.

Tbh, he might do better coming on as a sub, up against tired players, with his trickery and the slightly more space afforded in La Liga. Could be more productive that way.
