Wait ugbo played for scunny? I'm from here and I didn't even know that 😂

From YT (yes I know) he seems to have a bit of pace coupled with decent looking strength, hopefully he picks up form while here.

Went to the world cup with Canada didn't he? Apparently highly thought of or was

15 games 1 goal, initially on 6 months loan deal after which scunny sent him back to chelsea🤣

Considering We are 2 days away from the window closing then it’s probably the best we can do. Other championship clubs were looking at him so he must have something in him. I see more potential than hirst but of course we will see.

Agree but to say we are 2 days from the window shutting is damning on the part of Broughton who has had a whole month to get some deals done. Leaving it to the last minute is customary whoever is running brfc

I totally agree and I’ve vented my anger enough of how unorganised we’ve been…but we’re in the situation we’re in and I can’t really see us getting anyone better.

Truly desperate Stuff . Age 24, never played for parent Club Chelsea - been to seven different Clubs on loan throughout his career. One goal in thirteen in Ligue 1 this season. Career total of 4 In 46 in England.

That would be two strikers brought in this season who have no idea where the back of the net is at this level. Is that Greg's key criteria for bringing someone in?

He hasn't kicked a ball for us yet - and already you've decided he's no good. Nothing like having an open mind, is there ?

5 in 14 games in Ligue 1 last year.

16 goals in 32 games in Belgium top league.
Never seen him play but hopefully a loan with a option may be decent.

So Vale and Gally are literally the worst two strikers in football then? Whatever you say BankEndy Boy.

What are you talking about?? Vale isnt good enough and Gally can’t hit a barn door. Don’t take my speech so literal… We’ve hopefully, got a new face in, who has an okay record…Who knows if he’ll be any good but the way the other 2 strikers are shaping it’s really not hard to better them.

Looking at his stats, it genuinely looks like an ok signing.

He was part of the Chelsea youth setup that was loaned all over Europe. He's played at Cercle Brugge (17 in 34) and Roda (13 in 29).

He's had inconsistent minutes at Troyes, but did score a few last season on loan there.

He also had 47 minutes at the WC with Canada.

And he did manage a goal in the championship in the 17/18 season. So is that better than Hirst?

he`s failed to make an impression at barnsley,mk dons and scunthorpe, every time he`s been sent back to chelsea,he did ok in holland and belgium(roda and cercle bruges) again loans, sold to genk, then sold to troyes, initialy on loan then permanent, they now want to get rid of him, massive alarm bells going on for me,why do clubs want to offload him,he`s either worse than george hirst or has a massive attitude problem,my god he might even be worse than antony modeste🤒😅

I'm pretty sure at the first 3 clubs. He was 19,18 and 17 respectively.

I mean you can understand why - he's hardly a prolific striker. He's clearly been touted around by his agent / Troyes as he's been linked to quite a few Championship clubs this window.

I'm as positive as they come on here with JDT and Broughton - maybe this is the gamble that comes off, but to me we needed a proven goalscorer - this guy isn't one.

We all want a proven goal scorer but if we are talking at in the moment then who else is out there to look at?

Fair enough, but how do you get a proven goal scorer when you haven't got a pot to piss in? This is where the recruitment dept earn their money . Of course it's a gamble but it's the cards we have at the moment

I’m open minded about any transfer,  I’m not writing anyone off and certainly hope the rumoured striker is a success.
I think people have the right to be concerned about his goal record, but we may be able to get more from him, than he’s shown so for for most of his career…

When he was a 17/18 year old kid

Exactly this - he’s clearly developed since being a kid and his goal record in Belgium and a couple of other places suggest he knows where the net is.

We’re actually making a forward signing, as well as Sorba to supply him; let’s see how they fare before we start moaning, eh?

Surely I'm entitled to an opinion before he arrives based on his career history to date?

I expressed exactly the same opinion on Hirst who had a similarly uninspiring Career profile (0 in 32 at this level when he arrived) and look how that turned out.
