jim mk2 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 57 minutes ago, chaddyrovers said: well I think we will actually get a reaction from the players today and I think we will beat Stoke and put in a positive performance. People wrote this set of players off against WBA and it came back to bite them on the backside. Where was the “reaction” at Derby and why should it be any different tonight? Apart from a brief spell at the end of the first half at Pride Park the players looked like they’d logged off for the season. Stoke will be up for this with Derby reviving and the Stoke manager has a very good record against us. It’s difficult to see anything other than another sorry defeat Stoke 2 Rovers 0 5 Quote

Was looking forward to him and Gueye combining. Injuries a big problem for us again.. Very annoying. Team I would go : Pears Brittain Carter Hyam Riberio Travis Tronstad Ohashi Dennis Dolan Gueye Would love to see a reaction but not that hopeful. Quote

If anything I probably back the team more in a game I think we'll struggle in. Somewhere in my head I think my shouting louder will help the players 😉 In the Souness/Hughes era the best backing the team got was in games against the 'entitled' teams - Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea. Were the fans always confident of winning those games? Of course not but that didn't stop us giving the players great backing. Of course then we had a team with tons of fight and spirit! Assuming he won't opt for a back 3 from the off, this is how i'd expect us to line up. Ohashi and Dennis swap places though. Quote
USABlue Posted March 12 Posted March 12 With the added pressure on Stoke due to thise below them winning they will be up for this. Our only chance is if they succumb to the pressure. Pretty easy home win otherwise. Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Once again - as it was at Derby (ha) - it is absolutely imperative not to give away the early goal. They are going to be edgy as hell given the results last night with the pressure firmly on. Wouldn’t it be fantastic for once to see us rise to an occasion such as this. 1 Quote
Old Codger Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Depressing as it is, the season pretty much ends for Rovers this week. Yeah we will scrape the odd result here and there, but there isn't going to be any last hurrah from the rabble of unsecured journeymen that Messrs Waggott and Suhail Pasha have overseen the recruitment of.. It does beg the question though... WHAT NEXT? Of course, ALLEZ LES BLEU!, but what if there is no longer a team to get behind? What then? 4 Quote

roversfan99 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 See if he gets one right. I think the only one he has so far was one leaked by a few different people on here the night before. Its a tough one. We dont have the players to play a back 3, Ribeiro isnt a wing back, Sanderson is crap and we dont have a fit left footed centre back. But we also dont have any wingers. Quote
StHelensRover Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Sanderson has me really worried at centre half, I bet we end up signing him 😂 Other than a few agricultural challenges he has put in which get a cheer from the fans, he looks out of his depth. I get that he was supposed to be substitute/cover but now he's the first choice due to injury and we look very exposed. Other teams will be identifying him and putting him under pressure at every opportunity. Hope he can dig out a performance tonight. 2 Quote

He has decent pace for a central defender but so far that seems to basically be it. Seems to have poor football intelligence and has looked very clumsy. Hopefully he can improve. Quote
Wheelton Blue Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I think we'll get a draw tonight. I'm expecting a tight, fractious match with not a lot of quality on show. 1-1 3 Quote
midlandrovers Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I missed the deadline to buy a ticket. Any spares for tonight please ?? Quote

OsloRover Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Tonight is the time for Ismael to show what he's made of. Galvanise the players and get a win against a nervous Stoke side, or another game where we are outfought and out-willed all over the pitch. Make or break time. 1 Quote
