For a fair few of them, the manager went to bat for them to get new deals, as well as have his own hard work rewarded. Manager told to go forth and multiply. Does so. Some loser brought in as replacement.

He's nothing more than a placeholder. JDT and Eustace were slated by fans for poor performances.
