Upside Down Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago 6 hours ago, MarkBRFC said: They would be better off coming out and admitting that talks haven't started because they don't want them to. Trav, Tronstad, Hyam and Brittain are all the wrong profile for this club. Experienced, "old", high wages, and proven at this level. They want that lot out, to be replaced with 20-24 year old French, Belgian, Dutch players who will be on at the most half of that lot's wage. Then they will all be sat around scratching there heads as to why when we plunge into a relegation fight. That seems incredibly similar to the model of 10-15 years ago where we forced out all of our proven experienced players and got in a load of random Portuguese lads.... Quote
DutchRover Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago (edited) And so Nixon begins peddling the company line, seems Suhail was his in, not Waggott. Batth will not resign, the post just proves we are trying to find a way of blaming him. As for we'll bring in Nade if he doesn't, the usual smokescreen to make it seem like we are being productive.Β They're not even comparable players, Nade is 8 years younger and left footed, they fill a completely differently roles in the squad. (Now if we do keep Batth and sign Nade, that is a productive move, so can guarantee we won't) Edited 11 hours ago by DutchRover Quote
roversfan99 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago We supposedly wanted a left footed centre back before it became clear that Batth is likely to leave. Quote
BigHoz Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Iβd offer batth a 2 year deal, 2nd year being on reduced terms and more likely a back up, unless he has a great season again.Β Β on the other hand if I was him Iβd pick Derby. and anyone hating on Wrexham, theyβd beat us to most players in a head to head battle as it currently stands.Β Β shows how much of a fucked up club weβve become.Β Quote
Emerald Isle Rover Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Canβt blame batth for wanting two year security financially and given his performances last year his stock will have increased. Having said that heβs 35 in sept ideally heβd accept 1 year with us with an option but he holds all the cardsΒ Quote
Roversider Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Fascinating that Eustace was supposed to have departed due to unhappiness with the players brought in but seems determined to hoover them up for Derby ....... 2 Quote
B16Rover Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago If we'd have signed Batth initially when JDT wanted him, would we have gone up?Β Β 7 Quote

Think batth suited/suits a more structured set upΒ 1 Quote

A club with ambitious plans, promoted three years in a row, has global exposure and willing to spend. They have a better chance at promotion than us and will be nowhere near the bottom half of the table. 3 Quote
Emerald Isle Rover Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Wrexhams current squad isnβt good enough for promotion to the premier league. A lot will depend on who they actually sign Quote

Travis will have offers but I this one is 50/50, if Sheffield United come in for him, I think he will go, if a Wrexham I don't see it happening. They will throw big money at ex PL players like Ings, Cresswell. Both who they been linked with.Β Hopefully Batth re-sign here. Still expect Nade will happen.Β Still need players will experience at this level but also need pace and athleticism in our team.Β Wake up and smell the coffee 2 Quote

And again, spot on with dropping in another name to make things seem busy. No doubts those talks would "stall" as they have for that other defender we were in "advanced talks" with. I have no doubts that Waggott will have shown Suhail the ropes when it comes to feeding lines out to Nixon. 2 Quote

I think the Championship is where they stall out unless Reynolds wants to throw A LOT of money at the problem - but as a player you'd definitely rather be at Wrexham than Rovers these days.Β Quote

Uddersfelt Blue Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Wrexham are currently a far better proposition than Rovers so if they want Travis then he would be a fool to not want to join them. We can hang on to him for 12 months but if its about saving money then we will surely want to sell him.Β Β Unless something dramatic happens, Rovers are a basket case in terms of competing at the highest level.Β 1 Quote

Yea they've definitely raised their profile and becoming an attractive club to play for at that level which fair play to them is looking to be a better outfit than ours 1 Quote
roversfan99 Posted 34 minutes ago Posted 34 minutes ago https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25225237.expert-reveals-blackburn-will-get-dion-de-neve/ This isnt the most positive. Seems to have surprised the locals who expected him to stay in the Belgian second division. Doesnt score, doesnt assist, poor end product, hasnt really developed and inferior to Bocat who Stoke signed and has struggled. Quote
DutchRover Posted 31 minutes ago Posted 31 minutes ago Globally famous club, celebrity owners who are rich and more than willing to spend both on facilities and players, with a clear goal at reaching the premier league within the next few years. Wrexham are a million miles ahead of us at the minute for any player worth their salt. A complete tragedy of our own making thanks to Venkys. I wish some US investors would buy us to try restore us to where we belong, founding members of EFL and EPL, and historically one of the oldest and most successful clubs in England. 2 Quote
