different story when he reported stories that fit some people narrative

Bloody hell, talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

You hang off Nixon's every word when he says something you like. Now he's posted something which doesn't align with your super positive point of view you're more or less ignoring it.

Lol.

I have read the Nicko story and He has reported that Travis has been offered a 3 year contract but he is asking for big money and waiting on Wrexham to make an acceptable bid. Fee mentioned in the article is £2m plus extras.

Brittain is asking for more money than we been offered.

That is what has been reported by Nicko.

my thoughts are Wrexham will offered big wages above what we will of £25k plus weekly wages and I don't see Rovers doing that. Would you do that?

Also I think we will get Brittain and Tronstad new contracts done before the start of the season

He does not say Travis HAS been offered a 3 year deal by Rovers.

What evidence is there to suggest that will happen?

Nixon is a spin doctor that's what he is it's his job he takes snippets of info and rumour and spins them into tales and stories.

His ability to play both sides and sit on the fence via his wording is legendary yet some still can't see it, others chose not to unless it suits.

I think the main reason a lot on here flip flop between believing him then not is because unfortunately his positive spin usually turns out to be hot air whereas the negative stuff often follows through in reality.

You’ve moved the goalposts on the discussion. We were on about Nixon’s reporting. We all know that Venkys are billionaires and could fund if they wanted to. But they won’t.

So you agree that Nixon is probably correct that Travis will want to go to Wrexham for more money and more ambition if given the chance?

Well Wrexham is prepared to offer more money than we will and certainly have more ambition but that's true of just about every team in the League.

Whether Nixons story is True or not it doesn’t change the fact that they both should be given fresh terms. Cantwell by far the biggest earner and only got going towards end of season. Travis and Brittain are the heartbeat of this squad, what both players bring on and off the field can not be replaced in the market we shop in. If we have to sacrifice a signing to bump up the wages they deserve then so be it. Will it disrupt the team… who knows. But losing both of them definitely will

Things we know are true:

Venkys aren't funding the club, at least not properly

Rovers are raising cash wherever they can via cost cuts and sales

Pretty much every senior player has run his contract down over the last 3-4 years and nobody has renewed a contract in over 18 months.

Prior to the end of March, as confirmed directly by Travis, Tronstad and Brittain, the club had not so much as even contacted them about renewing their stays, let alone put forward concrete proposals for new contracts - I am confident that these three haven't lied

Now, by mid-June, we are supposed to believe that suddenly Rovers have got their act together, whilst the players have been off on holiday since early May, and have put forward concrete serious proposals for new deals in an effort to keep all these players and incur the substantial extra financial cost and commitment that comes with it, totally contrary to all the above?

Nah, pull the other one. They're paving the way for sales, so they need to get their agenda out first and also drop 'links' to a few incomings in to balance it out a bit.

Seen it all before. Some never learn.

I wonder how long Ismael will put up with it. Amazes me how many managers don't do their due diligence before coming to the mad house.

They get paid so they come then whilst they are here they get paid to relaunch their careers then engineer their exits once there is another job offer.

That's all this club exists for now, a stepping stone for anybody and everybody the only ones who don't eff off are the ones who've created this.

The problem may be that they do, do their due diligence, then still for some reason come to the Rovers. My opinion is that this is a real, free hit situation for the managers. If the team has success, it is down to them. If the team is a failure it is down to the way the club is run. The managers kudos is never lowered, all the while he is getting a reasonable salary.

And anyone with any real ambition or talent fucks off the minute they realise the level of cunt they're dealing with, a la Eustace & JDT

Even when we were the best team in the country we couldn't fill a 31k stadium.

With the overall rise in crowds over the last 30 years we could well have got to filling the stadium regularly had we stayed as a leading Premier League club.

I guess it depends on how you define a fan base. Does it include those who will turn up for the occasional big match and take a casual interest in what is going on? If that is the case then 13k is a minority of that total.

If you only include those who would ever go regularly to games (depending on the success of the team and other factors relating to the club, such as it's ownership) and/or take a more detailed interest in the club then 13k is a significant proportion.

I respect those who have deliberately boycotted - that must be a painful thing to do. But surely the reality is that the managed decline of the club and the lack of success on the field is the key factor in the hollowing out of the support. The season in League One showed that supporters will return if there is a genuine prospect of success.

If the club had the slightest shred of ambition and also actually tried to get people into the ground then regular attendance would be around 20-23k.

As it stands they can only manage to get 14-16k depending on away support. That's with zero ambition and zero effort.

They can still get 8k season ticket sales despite hiking the price and additional penalty fees.

In short, this club is very well supported given the location and size of town.

So this is the Nixon story via Rovers Xtra, not sure if there were specifics given about Brittain in the original story?

But I thought everyone on here said he talks shit anyway?

Until it suits their narrative. And this isn't me saying he is or isn't reliable or that I do or do not support the regime, just very much agreeing with your point that people slate new sources until the article aligns to their view.
